BlackBerry Curve now available through Sprint
Late's better than never -- usually, anyway -- and a rumored release date finally stuck long enough for the BlackBerry Curve 8330 to make an appearance on Sprint's online store. In fact, as "mid-May" goes, May 9 is actually on the early side of things if you want to get technical about it, so we guess some kudos are actually due here. Sprint's asking $179.99 on contract with rebates for the pleasure of indulging in its latest mobile productivity tool, which you'll ironically be using to respond to emails during meetings that you're supposed to be listening in on. Funny how the world works, isn't it?

For a second there I thought
Blackberry 9000 now available! YES!
lol
Huh,not to shabby.
Why do people want Blackberry devices?
I couldn't think of anything more annoying than having my office in my pocket.
your just another one of them...
@ Owen
Somewhere out there business man is hyperventilating at the possibility of having an office in his pocket.
Question.... Do all BB still have those cheap plastic scroll balls or was that improved? Obviously something is still there, but I have not been directly exposed to one in the wild for awhile.
"Somewhere out there business man is hyperventilating at the possibility of having an office in his pocket."
5% hyperventilating due to excitment, the rest due to fear and panic.
I have my office in my pocket and I'm happy with it. I don't have to remember every single detail, it's on my BB. I can stay in touch with my co-workers while I'm in non-stop boring meetings and I can get things done while I'm on the road without needing access to a computer or an internet terminal.
Before you go there, no, I am not a Crackberry addict, I don't use it on weekends and I have turned of the "vibrate on e-mail" function...
What's the "deal" (ha ha!) with the pack of cards in the photo? ...is the selling point "Look how BIG it is! Its bigger than a deck of cards! (and has rounded edges!) ?
They use a deck of cards in all of their phone images. Most people know the approximate size of a deck of cards so they can imagine how big the phone is in comparison.
...i thought it was their, "Buy a Bberry and get a free pack of cigarettes!" campaign.
Blackberry owners are the last mobile-phone demographic that would be a target for cigarettes advertisements.
but yet sprints curve has no MMS... and verizon has crippled gps... cant jesus get involved and just release a phone that does it all, and does it best... iphone needs a keyboard and 3g..and verizons network?
Alltel's has GPS and MMS enabled. :)
Google's Android is working on it. Wait'll later in the year when the handsets are available.
Can you use Alltel's 8330 and use it on Verizon's network?
great deal.. as an existing sprint customer with almost 2 years up on my contract they will take a whopping 75 dollars off the full price of the phone if i sign for another 2 years!
fucking hate these companies
When you hit 2 years you get $150 off for 2 years and $75 off for 1 year
Check out SERO plans. I know people who would have switched off of Sprint in a second until they found that site

Once it runs Android I'll buy one.
Yeah Matthew, they seem to treat their old customers worse than a new one. Forces me to change carriers every 2 years.
yup... new customers get it for 179... old ones for..... 529. something seriously wrong there. never thought i'd say it but the 3G iphone is almost looking tempting.
but wait, i had AT and T once and i'll never go back there again
it is $179.99 for current customers eligible for a rebate also get your facts straight
get my facts straight about what?
...In fact, as "mid-May" goes, May 9 is actually on the early side of things if you want to get technical about it, so we guess some kudos are actually due here....
Actually, they were afraid of the Ides of May ;-)
Just email that Joe guy from their commercials and see what he can do for you. joe@sprint.com.
dan@sprint.com... not joe
wtf?? i thought they said gunmetal black for the sprint version. this crap looks like all other BB Curve's out already.
Ok so I just called Sprint and complained enough about the whole "treating new customers better than loyal ones" and they gave me the phone for $179. Was $279 but they send a mail in rebate $100, so squeaky wheel gets the oil.
Release the hounds people!
retentions or CS?
