Guitar Hero: On Tour for the DS now on sale
Alright, so Guitar Hero: On Tour technically went on sale on Sunday, but who launches a game on Sunday? Anyway, the DS version of the rocker franchise is now available, goofy Guitar Grip accessory included, for just $49 of your hard-fought dollars. Reviews of the control system have been pretty positive so far, and the game itself looks like it's a solidly fun time -- even if that insanely bad promo video had us convinced otherwise for a while. Rockers -- to arms!

I've gotta agree, it looks really uncomfortable. Maybe it's meant for little kid hands.

That's what she sai...... I mean... uh... nevermind.

I guess I didn't realize that you ran your left hand around back. I thought you played with your right hand. Don't you jump in bohsocks, give it a rest...
Flashpoint @ Jun 24th 2008 8:18AM
ooooh. but you missed the best part.
It comes with a stylus shaped like a guitar pic ;-/
Perfect example of guitar queero.
slarity @ Jun 24th 2008 8:19AM
I think if they developed it correctly this has a bunch of potential. I'd say $49 is a good price with accessory included.
btw is the comment system messing up? Said there were 2 comments here but then I click on it and dont see any. This has happened a few times.
Gerard @ Jun 24th 2008 5:13PM
I think my dignity is worth more than playing $49
Imagine sitting next to a kid on an airplane with this thing.

The iPhone is going to kick this things arse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111
Kim @ Jun 24th 2008 8:27AM
Dude, the iPhone is a frekin phone. This is a video game for the Nintendo DS.
Your comparison makes no sense at all, two different things that have nothing to do with each other.
Go an troll on iPhone posts instead.
applefan @ Jun 24th 2008 11:16AM
Would people shut up about the iPhone already! Arghhh!!!!!!
I have an iPhone and I love it but this is getting ridiculous. Please just SHUT UP ABOUT THE iPHONE. Yes, it is fun to play games on, it has a great OS, etc. But there is no reason to rant about it on EVERY SINGLE ARTICLE ON ENGADGET. It makes fanboys like myself look stupid.
If you still want to rant, go to Gizmodo. Just go. Leave! (That means you, clak.)

No, I believe fanboyism makes fanboys look stupid.
You can be a loyal customer, or even a fan, without being a fanboy.
You just called yourself out.

Wouldn't that be iDol?

Guys its obvious its the same fucking retard who is posting this Apple shit. Since he doesn't have a life to speak of he has created multiple accounts and is spamming the board. Ignore the this tool. He's obvious visiting the site during the periods he isn't giving Jobs a blow job and after he's wiped the jiz juice off his face.
Tom Robertson @ Jun 24th 2008 8:20AM
If anyone saw the Gamespot coverage on this - apparently it doesn't rock out that well... The buttons are apparently too close together which I completely agree with.
Fusion Fuzo @ Jun 24th 2008 8:25AM
This is the end of Palm OS.
LOL is this crap the best palm can do?
Alexander @ Jun 24th 2008 8:28AM
What if you are left-handed?
Popple3 @ Jun 24th 2008 8:43AM
Um.... Turn the DS around perhaps? =P
Think about it, it wouldn't make a difference to have it on your other hand
Alexander @ Jun 24th 2008 9:24AM
Wouldn't the screen be upside down?
SteveJ @ Jun 24th 2008 9:48AM
The game has left/right option. I.e. it flips the screen over for you. That's standard practice for vertically oriented DS games. For example Brain Age, etc.
Julian @ Jun 24th 2008 8:32AM
I don't think we need to go beyond just showing an image of this thing to qualify it as a piece of garbage that should never have existed. It will forever live on as a tremendous blight on human history and hopefully our great great grandchildren can forgive us for bringing this crap into the world. The creation of this DS Guitar Hero set human technological advancements back 20 years. . . anyways, I have to get back to playing Super DodgeBall before the boss gets back from getting his breakfast.
Maestro @ Jun 24th 2008 8:40AM
IGN.com has a pretty favorable preview of this. Keep in mind you are playing on a DS not a next gen console.
Miles Prower @ Jun 24th 2008 8:41AM
Does it work this the "fat" DS?
shamowfski @ Jun 24th 2008 8:46AM
Yes, it includes an adapter for the phat.
Chimera @ Jun 24th 2008 9:26AM
Yes, there's a small adapter in the box to make it fit the old DS.
Chimera @ Jun 24th 2008 9:10AM
I bought this last night along with a crimson DS Lite (since I didn't own one) and Brain Age. I didn't get to play it, my wife immediately commandeered it and was playing Brain Age until it was time to go to bed.
Dillon @ Jun 24th 2008 9:12AM
This is the best day of my life.
Hellios @ Jun 24th 2008 9:23AM
I'd pay 30eur for this, too bad it's probably going to cost twice that. My R4 has spoiled me....
JoeMama @ Jun 24th 2008 9:32AM
My 7 year old bought it with his own money on Sunday.
I have to admit it is a lot of fun and has great songs.
The strap has velcro so you can quickly adjust it and my hand fits in there fine. It comes with an adapter so you can play it on the Lite or the original DS. It looks a LOT better on the Lite though. The original DS screen is not very clear when you look at it sideways.
After about an hour of play my hand and fingers were tired though.
Oh thats what she said.

I'm concerned for the well-being of your 7 year old, seeing as you still drag around the old 'Joe Mamma' joke attached to your name and your brilliantly clever closing line.
Damian @ Jun 24th 2008 9:34AM
fusion fuzo, comparing a DS Game to a Phone is pretty dumb, its like comparing Steve Jobs to Steven Spielberg.
Gingerbread Man @ Jun 24th 2008 9:59AM
I bought it like 2 days ago. The size is fine even for bigger hands. The only complaint I had was the amount of songs. Roughly 25 or so, but on a DS cartridge its not too bad. I dont listen to too much rock but the only songs I recognized was smashmouth, no doubt, santana, maroon 5, blink 182, and twisted sister.
If you like Guitar Hero then this is a good port. You can pick up right where you left if you know how to play it on any other console.
tiuk @ Jun 24th 2008 10:35AM
I just can't imagine a situation where I would want to play this. It's too embarrassing to play in public, and if I'm at home I'd just play on a console.
Demo @ Jun 24th 2008 10:49AM
I'm looking forward to yelling "ROCK OUT!!!!" in public places and get weird looks from other people.
TIMMAH! @ Jun 24th 2008 11:27AM
Carpel tunnel to-go! Sweet!
kaymm2 @ Jun 24th 2008 12:03PM
I got it last night and it's not very comfortable. My hand gets cramped up holding it and I just can't find the right position where it's comfy. I wouldn't say I have big man hands or small lady fingers. Now I'm stuck with it. Damn.
Andrew @ Jun 24th 2008 12:11PM
I have played this game on the 23 june. It was actually pretty good but the picking on the touch screen got to be fairly annoying and also my hand (the one that was holding the DS) cramped up...
Gingerbread Man @ Jun 24th 2008 12:21PM
Lol i laughed at that when i saw it said to yell "rock out" to enable star power. The best part about the star power is that you can just blow into the mic and not have to move your hands to throw u off. Or yell somethiing gay like Rock out. Coughing loudly also works!

"Alright, so Guitar Hero: On Tour technically went on sale on Sunday, but who launches a game on Sunday?"
Oh idk, two little games called Brawl and Pokemon D/P. But, y'know, who cares about those petty titles? :P
Eric @ Jun 24th 2008 12:56PM
I could have bought this on Sunday at any one of the dozen stores I was in...
DMC-12 @ Jun 24th 2008 1:26PM
I bought it yesterday, and for what it is, it is pretty cool. You can't compare it to the console version because the DS is a handheld, and the experience will never be the same. But, for $50, it's a good deal for a fun game. The only problem i have is that the guitar grip falls out of the gba slot sometimes. It hasn't done it while I am playing a song yet, but when it does fall out, you have to reset (no plug and play for the DS).
waterboy99troop @ Jun 24th 2008 1:47PM
yeah, it happened to me once already... apparently i was "rocking out too hard"... like there's such thing...
RevKicks @ Jun 24th 2008 3:13PM
I bought it for myself and my little cousins, its fun, too short for my liking, but fun. The Duel is a neat twist but wears out. hand crampage sucks but worth it to cure the GH cravings.
Owen @ Jun 24th 2008 3:36PM
I have it, got it on Sunday, and it is quite fun. You learn the controls fairly fast, but the game is really short. I've already beat it on medium and hard, and am almost done with expert. It's worth the $50, though.
LAmAR @ Aug 2nd 2008 2:01AM
me and my sister got it on sunday. she beat it all ready.
its more like a finger tapping game than an actual guitar game.
