Warner Music joins Nokia's Comes With Music download program
The latest label following BMG to join Nokia's Comes With Music service bandwagon is none other than Warner Music Group. The third-largest label joins the powerful cadre of labels on the service, which as of this posting lacks only EMI for a full major label lineup. As a reminder, the service allows you to download music for 12 months and then keep it as long as you own the device or transfer to a PC. Now, of course, we just need to wait for the devices to roll out.[Via Yahoo News]

Everyone just should fall to under the power of apple and join with them because as long as theres dumb people still out there itunes and ipods will reign supreme. do you know why cause there simple and easy to use its good and all but why do you buy music? i have never in my entire life bought music of and kind. and you know maybe a simple read through a friggin manual isn't so hard so using your gadgets wouldn't be so hard.
"why do you buy music?"
Because I appreciate it and value it.
When assaulting anyone's intelligence, or in this case everyone's, it's best to use proper spelling and grammar. Otherwise you just end up looking like a fool.
Oh poor poor Keith, I can almost hear the jackboots of the RIAA commandos coming up to your front door...
Enough with the music label announcements. Nokia now needs to ship the freaking phones.
Can anyone explain how this works? Do you pay a huge extra on the price of the phone?
I have to confess that don't know much about this particular scheme, but you can be sure that it probably comes laden with more DRM than you can shake a stick at. You most likely can't transfer the music even to another "comes with music" phone, should your original break. If so - I think I'll pass on this one. Thanks anyhow Nokia...
well, Nokia have done a good job with moving the GPS maps that have been bought by the handset over the air. That is in case the phone breaks, firmware upgrade, flash, reset etc.
Also using the Nokia Music store, you can re-download your bought music to PC/Phone after upgrades/changes etc. So I think this will be a breeze for Nokia as they do most of it already.
mr dent it's extra $20
I've always strugged with CDs and their superior audio quality, not to mention the ability to convert to virtually any audio format freely. Plus they were invented in the 80s, imagine that! Pfff, old hat.
What I've always wanted is worse audio quality along with restrictions on how and when I can transfer. I am glad I have yet another choice.
Not to throw a wrench in your logic, which seems "almost" foolproof. But my biggest problem is space, space for cds, and dvds which is at a premium in my small condo.
Oh! and also to buy that one song for 99c instead of the whole cd for $6+
samirss,
I've never been a single-buying guy, so I can understand that being a benefit certainly. But lossy audio...restrictions...no resale value, no packaging artwork... $1... hmm, I'll pass.
