There you have it, more supposed iPod nano 4G love, unboxed and wearing a distinctive iPod nano 2G lime-colored coat. Must be cold in the house that fruit built from all these leaks.
Update: As noted in the comments, that 2G-style coloring is matched with an old-style squeeze-connector iPod cable, making this leak, at least, highly suspect.
The more I look at the picture of this thing, the blurrier it gets - and my eyes start to hurt.
This thing looks terrible, like a cheap chinese MP4 knockoff player.
Besides, who'd want a nano after the touch came out? Just save your'e money and buy the touch. Apple can afford to lose revenue until you have saved for the big boy.
Yep. Also, that screen couldn't look more fake if it tried. Took old-style 2G Nano and moved a few things around in Photoshop. Added a crap screen et voilà! Maybe I should start churning out these fakes - seems like any muppet with a computer can do it these days.
dude Flashpoint have you ever thought that the Touch and Nano are not headed for the same type of people? I doubt you would have it easy running with a touchscreen player
Umm, anyone notice that the device in the picture does not appear to have any curve to it? It looks like an old nano with a screen photoshop, not anything like a new nano. That begs the question, where is the source pic that this person photoshopped?
He got a green and orange?!?! and the orange has curved sides while the green does not?!?! And using space age material the green iPod screen does not reflect light?!?!?
I don't understand why so many people complain on engadget (and other tech sites) about repetitive stories. When I scroll through the stories, if there is something I don't like, I just keep scrolling. If you don't like the story, skip it. Its obviously in interested to some people. Just because certain products that come out get high attention doesn't mean there should be 1 story about it. More and more articles get created all the time, these sites are just here to help us find it. If you don't like it, don't read it.
look at the dock adapter (the plastic piece) its flat and don't allow for a curved design....plus look at the edge of the nano's screen it looks to choppy.
Can engadget just not trust this JR guy who just sits at home photoshopping this shit
Hmm...I think that might be a photoshop of a blown up 2G. The screen doesn't looked curved, nor is any part of the ipod reflecting light like the rest of the picture.
note also the reflection of the left and right booklets in the bottom of the plastic case, the apple symbol appears in the wrong place w/r/t its position in the right booklet. that, poor aliasing, and recycling other ipod designs. not a particularly brilliant shop

Back to the old style squeeze-to-release dock connector then?
stefan @ Sep 6th 2008 6:45AM
hooray for my custom-made dock-connector LED-Flashlight then.
Flashpoint @ Sep 6th 2008 7:27AM

Josh @ Sep 6th 2008 8:32AM
I liked them much better than the new ones, I hope they really do come back!

'The more I look at the picture of this thing, the blurrier it gets - and my eyes start to hurt.'
I think your confusing it for your Iporn Nano
SteveJr_Ri @ Sep 6th 2008 10:25AM
just look at the rug and you can tell its an old photo ;)
Mitch @ Sep 6th 2008 10:32AM
What do you mean "back to the old style squeeze connector?" My 3G Nano came with a squeeze connector when I bought it.
Zachary Waldowski @ Sep 6th 2008 10:38AM
My old 3G iPod Nano had the squeeze-y dock connector. Works with my iPod Touch, too.
sonicwind @ Sep 6th 2008 10:39AM
I run with an iPhone all the time. The touch screen is the easiest mp3 control I've ever used on the run. Try using a click wheel while in motion.
Nate @ Sep 6th 2008 11:00AM
This thing looks exactly like a Chinese knockoff that I bought on eBay last year.
I'm calling bunk.
Sam Zebian @ Sep 6th 2008 12:12PM
that was the first thing I noticed lol

Cycomachead @ Sep 6th 2008 1:13PM
Yep. It's fake and the doc adaptor wasn't changed from the 2G one
No, apple wouldn't be using that dock connector.
jacobsen mcFuckyou @ Sep 6th 2008 1:57PM
the cable is an old one. the new ones are without this small buttons on the left and right side.
Aman @ Sep 6th 2008 3:16PM
Excuse me if I'm wrong but isn't the new nano suppose to have the dock towards the left not in the center.
thak @ Sep 7th 2008 10:15AM
the unit looks like it would barely fit in the box! looks like someone forgot to photoshop the box...
LiQuiD_FuSioN @ Sep 7th 2008 12:05PM
This "supposed" iPod Nano 4G leak should really just be taken down already.
It's clearly fake and photoshopped and in no way resembles the earlier picture that was leaked:
http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/05/ipod-nano-4g-leaked-in-actual-factual-really-real-spy-photo/
Then again, there's no way to prove that picture is real either. I guess the crappier leaked picture should be the one to go then?
Ty @ Sep 7th 2008 9:22PM
definitely must be fake if it's got the squeeze connector they don't even sell them in the store anymore.
Eric @ Sep 6th 2008 6:44AM
Well, It looks like we're getting that little guy... No doubt about it. I want a new iPod Touch!
ivan1420 @ Sep 6th 2008 4:29PM
I hope that little guy comes in 16 GB and 32 GB, just like the iPod touch.
Information Central @ Sep 6th 2008 9:45PM
This is obviously bullshit. The screen isn't even centered on the unit. LOOK AT IT.
Joe @ Sep 6th 2008 6:45AM
Isn't that the old ipod cable? I thought the new ones had much smaller plastic ends.... I dunno
AJ @ Sep 6th 2008 10:58AM
my 3rd gen nano came with the old connector and i bought it in december.
Sublimewulf @ Sep 6th 2008 11:54AM

SHINANAGINS!!!
EVERY ONE GET THEIR BROOMS!
lolec @ Sep 6th 2008 1:59PM
also, apple stopped using the little apple in keyboards and cables some time ago- im glad this is fake, i hope for a better design.
Saad Rabia @ Sep 6th 2008 6:45AM
Here we go again with the Apple-every-where news. Sorry, but it is annoying to make a big deal of a shot of an mp4 player!
Can't we just wait?!
Ed @ Sep 6th 2008 8:17AM
Better than more netbook stories. I wish Weblogs, Inc. would just spin off a new netbook-only blog.

Because Engadget know this will be a popular story.
evolutionxbox @ Sep 12th 2008 4:24AM
What a way to sell us the thing we already own again...
If this is the real thing then I have official got bored of the iPod Nano.
Meridimus @ Sep 6th 2008 6:45AM
This is a terrible photoshop.
Kahnyl @ Sep 6th 2008 6:46AM
The Nano doesn't look curved and that's an old adapter too.
Kahnyl @ Sep 6th 2008 6:49AM
Sorry, cable, not adapter.

soul7963 @ Sep 6th 2008 6:48AM

Fake or not, my 1st generation iPod Nano sure does look weird now. The screen is smaller than an ant.
xValentine @ Sep 6th 2008 6:54AM
I hope we get a picture of the back.
:)
Matsta @ Sep 6th 2008 6:57AM
It's too hard to photoshop it :P
David @ Sep 6th 2008 7:01AM
Holy crap. It really is the real thing.

Unless it receives the magic touch of Jobs, I will never want to lay my eyes on this again
andrew @ Sep 6th 2008 8:52AM
"the magic touch of jobs"
I do not even think i want to know about his "magic touch" sounds like Michael Jackson
Mark @ Sep 6th 2008 9:33AM
No you're just an idiot. This is a horrible photoshop job and there has already been a leaked picture of the real nano a week ago.
jacob @ Sep 6th 2008 7:02AM
hmmm.... this is all well and good but what about the 2nd gen touch fakes!? is there even gonna be a new ipod touch?!
