AT&T BlackBerry Curve 8900 on eBay, not cheap

So, the BlackBerry Curve 8900 AKA Javelin (with black trackball) has been spied on eBay with a starting bid of $2,500. In the words of our intern Jacob, "What a bargain." C'mon: it's got a black trackball.
Update: The original auction has been pulled, but there's a new one up. Thanks, commenters!

Al Bundy @ Nov 8th 2008 2:30PM
man, half of the daily posts are on mobile phones! I'd rather see some new pmp! at least there wont be termination charges on it.
Sparkie @ Nov 8th 2008 2:52PM
So it's a BB Curve with a G1 trackball? Big deal.
w4rh34rt @ Nov 8th 2008 2:53PM
I've seen these like, prototypes come up a lot on eBay but, like, is there any real reason.. Aside from bragging rights? Haha.
Farris @ Nov 8th 2008 3:18PM
Like, what do you, like, mean?
Bryant @ Nov 8th 2008 3:35PM
Seriously? You invoked Valley Girl in writing?
luke @ Nov 8th 2008 5:27PM

rock99rock @ Nov 9th 2008 2:22PM
@w4rh34rt
wtf does that have to do with Americans? You're obviously NOT American and dropped the "like" bomb as if you were a blond from The Hills.
Check yourself before you wreck yourself.
I'm talkin to the man, in, the mirror. WHOOO
morris @ Nov 8th 2008 3:00PM
who ever buys this phone on ebay is a retard. it's like spending 250G on a normal bimmer 6 series when you can get m6 for 100g. (bold)
iEye @ Nov 8th 2008 3:16PM
What? you need all that traction control just to handle a little power?
I'm ashamed of myself for driving a car with power steering...
too many wussy girls out there...
Alex @ Nov 8th 2008 3:48PM
Kinda like how my brother saw a Ferrari Scuderia the other day parked on the street in DC.
Part of me is like "Why not just get an F430?"
But part of me is like "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH BEAUTIFUL!"
So it kind of evens out.
gjp303 @ Nov 8th 2008 4:23PM
Except, people actually buy Blackberrys. M6's and the 6 series have ugly asses.
noyp @ Nov 8th 2008 6:00PM
The Bold doesn"t have all that much over the 8900 other than 3G, which, not everyone needs.
deyanimay @ Nov 8th 2008 3:06PM
So who ever takes these screenshots uses a mac?
Josh @ Nov 9th 2008 12:33AM
I guess, who ever jojo is
EMaster @ Nov 8th 2008 3:07PM
Auction's been pulled, gee i wonder why *cough*lawyers*cough*
AlekZander @ Nov 8th 2008 3:08PM
No, probably because someone just bought it.
deyanimay @ Nov 8th 2008 3:16PM
Buy it now was not an option. Besides "Listings that have ended more than 90 days ago will no longer appear on eBay." It hasn't been 90 days.
Telanis @ Nov 8th 2008 4:54PM
"Listings that have ended more than 90 days ago will no longer appear on eBay" does not imply "Listings that have ended less than 90 days ago must appear on eBay." Review your propositional logic.
EMaster @ Nov 8th 2008 3:16PM
No then it would ahve said "Bidding on this item has ended". Unless of course the device was acquired super illicitly and the device was sold but then the seller quickley nullified the auction but is keeping his end of the bargain anyway. They did that with a memory stick once for me on ebay cause it was stolen probably.
thethirdmoose @ Nov 8th 2008 3:29PM
You have interns?
Vincent Mac @ Nov 8th 2008 6:09PM
After all the times I've used it, I too have a black trackball on my 8310, though it used to be white.
hotsauce @ Nov 8th 2008 6:53PM
Seriously, when was the last time an online petition actually worked? I always laugh when I see one.
MaxW @ Nov 8th 2008 6:57PM
There's a new one up tho.

Still not cheap tho.
Danger @ Nov 8th 2008 10:52PM

Josh @ Nov 9th 2008 12:34AM
And it's cheaper!

TBooth at limeridge mall, in hamilton ontario, I got a hands on with the javelin. All the fun stuff of the bikd, minus wifi, in a MUCH nicer package. UI is GREAT, screen is FANTASTIC and the keyboard is nicer too. I dunno, so far my favorite BB device. Theres a guy with short blond hair that works there that has one if you are in the area ;) Black trackball and all. I noticed it on his belt clip and was like
"WHOA THAT ISN'T OUT YET! How?"
"SHHHH a customer offered it to me for a trade in! *hands me BB 8900* Fiddle around. It's awesome"
"WOOOO. Nice screen eh? Too bad no wifi"
"Doesn't matter, edge is nice enough."
"Wooo! I want one. But i'm buying an n95"
"I'll hook you up, come back later"
And that is the story. 2500 on ebay? SUCKERS. Work at a phone store in hamilton. We're local enough to RIM :)
Josh @ Nov 9th 2008 12:35AM
Get a job there for the day so you can sell one on eBay too :)
fury @ Nov 9th 2008 9:16PM
Item has already been removed.
