Speaking of President-elect Obama, I'm sure the current President could tell him when they meet today that he's going to be in for a world of vitriol. Being top dog is synonymous with braving insults. And since the numbers don't lie, the Wii is the natural recipient of much criticism. It's been called a temporary gimmick, a PS2 with waggle, and, most amusingly, two GameCubes duct-taped together.

So how should one respond to such gross assumptions? It's quite simple: enjoy playing your Wii. There is no greater counter-argument to the questioning of something's worth than the realization of its users' happiness. That is not to say that we should delude ourselves into enjoying every move Nintendo makes. Instead, we should allow ourselves to enjoy what we do and never let anyone convince us otherwise.

One must understand that throughout history, there has never been a leader who was universally loved by all. King Tut, Julius Caesar, Jesus Christ, Queen Elizabeth I, Mahatma Gandhi, Adolf Hitler, Martin Luther King Jr.: perhaps the only thing that all of these leaders had in common is that they each had their fair share of supporters and detractors. You'll never be able to control the thoughts of every last human being, nor should one person ever be able to do so.
