Samsung kicks out new touchscreen LCDs for your public smudging

See that. No, not that, that, the new touchscreen from Samsung. It's part of its new TS series of Magicinfo LCDs targeting businesses and digital advertising markets. The LCD panels measure 32-, 40-, 46-, 70-, and 82-inches and can be linked together to form a massive touch experience. Just don't forget your hand sanitizer and bus glove, Mr. Pantywaist.

1) I remember seeing a map of the concentrations of voluntary (meaning, not repairing accidental disfigurement etc) cosmetic plastic surgeries. These procedures are super highly concentrated in Korea. Although most procedures are rather superficial, it's not uncommon to have total transformations. You can't even recognize that the before and after are the same person.

I thought about that Samsung logo too. While it would be cool if you could movie it to the short edge and rotate it, that might result in some people/companies removing the logo completely. I'm sure Samsung wants to make sure their logo stays on the product.

And what would be the point of using one of these for stuff like obtaining a ticket? I don't want to crouch down every time I'd like to hit that "previous" button. I really don't think there's much of a point to this when it comes to public ordering/info terminals, because even when accessing lots of data, I'd consider it much more comfortable to have a small high resolution touch screen at "hand level" control a big non-touch screen mounted at height of head.
