Brando's latest mini-keyboard: blue backlight, impossible to type on
There's no denying that Brando has a special place in its heart for shrunken keyboards, and the latest addition to its product line continues the trend. This appropriately titled "Wireless Illuminated Super Tiny Keyboard" is a slim 15mm, has 56 keys, and operates wirelessly via an included dongle. Yeah, it may not have Bluetooth or handy media keys -- but you can't argue with that electric blue backlight. If this info has got your fingers twitching, you can order one now for $47 with shipping expected by "end of December 2008."

What happened to the article on the lenove keyboard?
Andir3.0 @ Dec 17th 2008 10:55PM
Was wondering that myself...
The MC @ Dec 17th 2008 10:57PM
IDK why they took it down, but here's the Flickr link. It looks 5000% better than this POS.

@MC
Actually it looks over 9000% better than that POS.
Loonie @ Dec 18th 2008 11:12AM
It's also 9000% bigger.

FILA @ Dec 17th 2008 10:36PM
Ok so we go from the lenovo wireless keyboard to this piece of shit, where the hell did the other post go to.
hariss @ Dec 17th 2008 10:38PM
YES! Finally a keyboard i could carry around in my pocket.
gonintendo @ Dec 17th 2008 10:38PM
In your XXL cargo pants, that is.
FILA @ Dec 17th 2008 10:39PM
I dont know why you would want to its not like its bluetooth so you can hook it up to anything
BigD145 @ Dec 17th 2008 11:07PM
I have slacks with pockets big enough for this.
Flashpoint @ Dec 17th 2008 10:39PM
All you'd need now is an arm gauntlet to hold it and a massive computer screen.
slycooper_rocker (lorddshadow the amazing) [anti-panda death squadron force five] @ Dec 17th 2008 11:01PM
Pip-boy 3000?
collegekid13 @ Dec 17th 2008 10:40PM
who the heck would want this over that now gone lenovo keyboard
brian @ Dec 17th 2008 11:22PM
maybe people that have had an arm amputated. Compact keyboards like this are popular in disability community.
collegekid13 @ Dec 18th 2008 2:36PM
oh sure make me seem like a bad person
Mark @ Dec 17th 2008 10:41PM
If it had Bluetooth it would actually be useful for those with PDA phones.
warrrennnnn @ Dec 18th 2008 12:54AM
That's exactly what I was thinking. Why not squeeze in Bluetooth? Honestly. Brainstorming there must suck.
yas @ Dec 17th 2008 10:43PM
Why cant they get it right.... from keyboards with no backlight to ones that look as bright as the sun; where is the inbetween! Bet its effing annoying when in a dark room watching a film
Alex Robert @ Dec 17th 2008 10:46PM
Where's the space bar?
you @ Dec 17th 2008 11:09PM
form over function.....
........must be an apple product in disguise...
william morrow @ Dec 17th 2008 10:51PM
This is a field techs dream instead of hooking up a full keyboard when all you need to do is "hit enter to continue booting"
helloUser @ Dec 17th 2008 10:59PM
Impossible to type on yet apple's iphone touch based keyboard is given so much credit?
This whole blog is ridiculously full of bullshit.
The Dude @ Dec 17th 2008 11:00PM
I'm only interested if it has electrolytes. They're what plants, and I, crave.
RodTheBod @ Dec 17th 2008 11:45PM
classic!
ethana2 @ Dec 18th 2008 2:22AM
Typing on this thing must be like driving an ICE CREAM TRUCK full of ANGRY BEES through a petting zoo, and I don't think it will make you WIN AT TYPING.
I'm glad I'm not alone here ;)
vvtopkar @ Dec 17th 2008 11:04PM
There is one word for this keyboard, and that is AWESOME.
ethana2 @ Dec 18th 2008 2:23AM
...but it's not more awesome than BRAWNDO!
jd @ Dec 17th 2008 11:07PM
i dont get it, who uses it?
is it for desktop users? but every desktop has a keyboard, i dont understand who needs a tiny key board. unless we are talking about "little" people.
Johan S @ Dec 17th 2008 11:30PM
This is useful, I'd like it for typing crap on my HDTV (in a way PC) from the recliner without having a big ass keyboard.
I only wish the blacklight was red so it won't F up my night vision.
Johan S @ Dec 17th 2008 11:32PM
Mind you an OLED touchscreen keyboard would have been better but nobody else wants that.
ED @ Dec 17th 2008 11:07PM
I misread that as shuriken keyboards initially.
tyama9390 @ Dec 18th 2008 12:19AM
touch typing with a vengance
1234321 @ Dec 17th 2008 11:19PM
perfect, two small for regular typing and too big for thumb typing
El Taco @ Dec 17th 2008 11:24PM
exactly what I was gonna say
engadget @ Dec 17th 2008 11:47PM
I think this will be lovely for my PlayStation 3 console. I like a small keyboard for chatting, and I usually play in the dark so the backlighting is a plus.
Greg @ Dec 17th 2008 11:52PM
This is so stupid. It's too small to type on normally, but to big to 'thumb'. It manages to get right in between to that perfect zone of complete uselessness.
thequestor @ Dec 18th 2008 12:26AM
Man oh man those are some mutant fingures. That person must wear a size 18 shoe too
zapot8 @ Dec 18th 2008 12:30AM
brawndo's got what plants crave, its got electrolytes.
scott @ Dec 18th 2008 1:38AM
idiocracy, ftw.
Orappa @ Dec 18th 2008 12:47AM
i hope the back ligth can be dimmed or else it will light Sao paulo, and plane will start land on my front door,
so apart from that god idea
scott @ Dec 18th 2008 1:37AM
I like the fact that the other "brando super tiny keyboard" article has positive connotations, but this one is negative. lawl.
Zen @ Dec 18th 2008 1:58AM
Now we can enjoy the agony of typing on a netbook-sized keyboard without having to own a netbook.
ethana2 @ Dec 18th 2008 2:25AM
Brando will make you want to use your keyboard in every day tasks, like television, or romance, or HELICOPTER REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE.
Omivaun @ Dec 18th 2008 2:29AM
looks like an accessory for wii or something.
CrashingDutchman @ Dec 18th 2008 2:55AM
It doesn't have any mouse functionality either?
Dr Buzz0 @ Dec 18th 2008 3:53AM
Meh.. No less functional for typing that a blackberry or similar mobile keyboard. This might be just the thing for those who only occasionally need to type into a computer, for example an HTPC which is primarily controlled by a remote control or perhaps as a remote keyboard to use from a distance.
Also I've found the need for an extra keyboard when Windows XP suddenly craps out the bluetooth service on me and thus I can't use my main wireless keyboard.
Clearly not the thing you'd want for a primary typing keyboard, but I would not be so fast to say it's "impossible to type on"
wywywywy @ Dec 18th 2008 4:54AM
This is going to be one of the best keyboards for Car PCs ever!
Small enough to be put into a console somewhere in the dash.
Back-lit so I can actually type at night in the car!
dave @ Dec 18th 2008 6:31AM
no bluetooth = fail
