NintendoWare weekly: Bejeweled, Blaster Master, Earthworm Jim 2

As promised, Sunsoft's brought Blaster Master to the Virtual Console -- though we think the impact is somewhat dulled by the quantity of other games available for download this week. There's a total of 11 different games available, so head past the break for the full list.

DSiWare

  • Littlest Pet Shop (EA, 1 player, 800 DSi Points): EA's DSi title lets you take care of virtual pets in the best way -- by throwing dance parties for them.

  • Miami Nights (Gameloft, 1 player, 800 DSi Points): In Miami Nights, you create a virtual avatar and take him through the life of a Miami native, exploring over 30 different locales and interacting with host of NPCs.

  • Bejeweled Twist (PopCap Games, 1 - 2 players, 500 DSi Points): Based on PopCap's original, this is a more streamlined and quick way to play the classic puzzler.

  • Yummy Yummy Cooking Jam (Virtual Toys, 1 player, 500 DSi Points): In this Virtual Toys title, you prepare meals for an oddball set of patrons, including "vampires, extraterrestrials, mafia thugs, Vikings and more." So, basically, you kill people, round up cows, prepare gabba-gool and roast wild boars.

  • Master of Illusion Express: Matchmaker (Nintendo, 1 player, 200 DSi Points): This bite-sized version of Nintendo's game features two different tricks: an age guesser that uses the DSi's camera to predict the age of someone; and a matchmaker that compares likes and dislikes to match different people together.

WiiWare

  • Stunt Cars (Icon Games Entertainment, 1 - 4 players, 800 Wii Points): In this rail-less racer, you play through four different championship cups on elevated tracks.

  • Diatomic (Grendel Games, 1 - 2 players, 800 Wii Points): Finally, a game where folks can battle evil germs on a microscopic level inside of a petri dish. If only David Puddy were still alive to see this.

  • Moki Moki (Natsume Inc, 1 player, 800 Wii Points): Over 100 different levels, players must save the Moki from the Gromblins, a hungry species that enjoys devouring the Moki. Shift the game world around to move the Moki out of the reach of the Gromblins.

  • Rubik's Puzzle Galaxy: Rush (Two Tribes, 1 - 2 players, 600 Wii Points): In this herd-'em-up, you guide colored cubes to their corresponding, colored exits. It alson features a virtual version of the Rubik's Cube.

Virtual Console

  • Blaster Master (NES, 1 player, 500 Wii Points): Underneath the city of New York, you'll encounter ancient beasts and truly learn what it is to master the blaster.

  • Earthworm Jim 2 (Sega Genesis, 1 player, 800 Wii Points): Jim and his marvelous suit are back -- expect more laughs and more platforming in this sequel to the first hit game.
