ASUS EeePC T101H tablet netbook peeked at CES

ASUS had us so dazzled yesterday with the announcement of Eee PC T91 and and the S121 that we nearly didn't notice this guy -- the T91's bigger sidekick -- hiding in the "unannounced but still very much here" pile. There's precious little in the way of info, specs or anything else, but we know it's got a 10-inch display, and it's a very, very dapper tablet.

All I can say is, that's sexy...
But it would be sexy hot with an Atom dual core...
And it would be sexy, sexy hot with dual core plus nVidia...
And it would be sexy, sexy, hottie hot with dual core plus nVidia plus better res multi-touch...

looks like a MAC.
I'd never buy anything that looked like a MAC unless it was a MAC.
ChaosEntity17 @ Jan 7th 2009 11:37PM
It would be epic if it could have all of the above and still manage to keep it under $500

Hands on video with the smaller one. They're saying it's supposed to be released Marchish at $499, so the bigger one will definitely top the $500 mark.

jakjak9210 @ Jan 7th 2009 11:34PM
thats awesome, did you get a chance to play with it?
adam @ Jan 7th 2009 11:39PM
If I was in a market for one of these I am sold so far with the looks at least with this one!
Asus is really becoming one heck of a cool pc vendor!

Asus Support sucks, a german guy waited a year 'till he his bad optical drive fixed. Obviously NOT an Eee but a very expensive Asus Notebook, was about 2000$.
The problem was, that Asus didn't know which drive frame his notebook needed and it took that long to find out and mount it. So it's not the dumb staff but poor design!
c't (a german magazine) reviews notebook service every 2 years or so, Asus didn't make it to the top.

Guys,
Could you please ask the Asus folks when the new EeeBoxen are going to be released?
Thanks :)

Zunavio @ Jan 7th 2009 11:56PM
Will it run 7 ?
adam @ Jan 7th 2009 11:59PM
I am sure it will run it without problem!
But it most likely will not be installed when you buy it unless this does not come out until the end of the year.
Zunavio @ Jan 8th 2009 12:07AM
If that's true,
YES!
I'm getting one.

I am seriously not a Mac fanboy, but doesn't the keyboard look like a Macbooks? Not that its a good thing or bad thing, but I'm just curious as to whether or not anyone else had this impression.

You mean the chicklet keyboard that Sony did first? Yah, it does. Several manufacturers have been moving to this style. It looks better but it sucks more if you're a touch typer.
Zunavio @ Jan 8th 2009 2:31AM
No, SONY stole that design from

I definitely have to disagree with you Shyam D. I have got a MacBook for about a year now, and I could touch type on it much faster and easier than on my 4 laptops I had before with normal keyboards as well as desktop keyboards. The spacing feels just much more natural, and it's harder to click the wrong key. Whenever I use a normal keyboard now, it feels really weird and feels kind of hard to type on it..

@ Shyam,
I'm typing this on my Apple Aluminum keyboard at work connected to an XP box. I'm a 90+ WPM typer (software engineer programming for over 25 years) and I've never typed faster. FWIW
