Despite the fact that MSI's Atom-powered
WindBOX is
meant to ride your monitor while providing all the computing power it can handle, the employees at the company's CeBIT booth felt it more proper in public to simply leave it laying out front. Though we were a touch dismayed, this choice did give us a better opportunity to shoot it from all angles, and we must say, this sucker is pretty thin. We're still hearing that
MSI is aiming this more at enterprise customers rather than mainstream consumers, but there's nothing you can't buy if you know the right channels. Peep the gallery for more of this awkward, dismounted nettop.
That would make a great HTPC box. Just needs DVI or HDMI and an eSata for another hard. Built in tuner card would be cool too...
Im thinking more as a CarPC box.. thats where this unit deserves to live.
yeah... what the f', David Blaine?
Why would you build a computer meant to mount to VESA screw mounts and then put only a 15 pin connector on it!?
I can't even think of an analogy for that.
Except insanity...
It is just like insanity.

no HDMI ?
FAIL
Really, no HDMI ...
WTF are they thinking?
exactly what the article says "We're still hearing that MSI is aiming this more at enterprise customers rather than mainstream consumers,"
Thus no HDMI.
I have yet to see an atom device worthy of an hdmi out.
How would one of these things compare to a 1.73GHz Pentium M with 1 GB of ram? I'm thinking it'll be about the same, and if I could get my work to buy me one it'd be a nice replacement for my current laptop so I can free up some space on my workbench since I never move it around. Just mount it to the back of my monitor and I'm good to go.
Ah, the Samsung 226BW - my favorite monitor of all time. Love it!
looks more like the SyncMaster 216BW. Same thing I got.
a computer of this form factor is not really innovation but MSI marketing is really capturing the spirit of innovation with CeBit. with a grand slam, the wind netbook, already credited to them last year is MSI posturing up to become the next Apple, Inc. Nintendo did it...I guess MSI can do it too!

It looks like MSI took the guts of a laptop and put them inside a normal case. Check it out here. http://www.orbitmicro.com/global/build.php?products_id=10135
