Optus' HTC Dream spotted, photographed passionately
Low light, candles in the corner -- seriously folks, these shots are downright sultry. Optus' HTC G1, er, Dream has been spotted and photographed in some random corner of the world, and while it basically looks like every other G1 you've ever seen in this hue, we're absolutely certain that Australians in attendance are more than happy to have a look. You know where to head for the rest.

all the color in the world won't help that ugly chin go away.
and yes I LOVE Android, but this phone was meh.
I have one and it's my favorite phone ever. The hardware is excellent in a day-to-day functional kind of way. The chin even rests against your right palm and helps position the keyboard under your thumbs and allows you to hold it securely while typing.
Dream come true!
Ooooo, That's Magic!
I'm going to go to bed and have a dream about how undreamy that thing really is
What's so special about this? It's been available to Optus for a couple of weeks now...old news.
too right... ive had one for about 2 weeks now..
The phone has crappy Singtel firmware (RC8) on it which requires a rather laborious process to downgrade to UK RC7, then root, then change to a decent firmware version (with Lattitude installed).
No paid apps yet.
20 thumbs down for the support this device is receiving locally.
In australia, not only does the water whirl in the opposite direction, but mr blurrycam actually takes good photographs!
There's a few tempting contracts in the UK for it, I can't decide whether to hold off for the big release of phones we'll see halfway through the year though.
hold off. The 2009 phones are worth it. Just don't hold off to get the HTC Magic because this has inferior hardware to the G1 and inferior software (soft controls only).
Good choices could be the Tegra Android in Q3 and Q4, Huwaei's Android, and the possible G3 in Q4.
Talk about late...
Does it have tri-band HSPA?
The information I've found suggests that it doesn't, which is a shame. It doesn't look like it's been changed at all from the T-Mobile version, aside from some minor differences in the firmware, perhaps.
:(
Just checked Optus' site, it's listed as HSDPA/2100MHz
I has a sad.
I feel your pain. If this would come out, even now, with a Rogers-compatible HSPA radio, I'd buy it in a second. Instead, Nokia is getting my money.
Wow,just another weak htc,,next!!!weak,!!no iphonekiller here.
