We already had plenty of
reason to believe that Samsung's QWERTY-packin', landscape-layin'
SGH-a877 was headed to AT&T, but now it's pretty much a lock.
phonescoop has dug up a few more pertinent details about the so-called Impression, confirming the 3.2-inch AMOLED touchscreen and adding that the handset will include an accelerometer and built-in Bluetooth. If this one has your eye, we'd wager that it won't be long before it goes on sale for real -- maybe all's that is left is a formal CTIA unveiling?
Wished it was a WM OS.
I'm glad it's not, I need a new phone but don't want the data plans associated with smartphones, cause I'm broke.
Well, I think I found my next phone.
I've given up all hope of a good non-business phone on AT&T, they've just got too much money with the Iphone and its absurd data plan.
Oh wow, it'll have built-in Bluetooth.
A novel feature, indeed.
Thank God it doesnt have windows operating system, cost more and windows blows on mobile phones.
Give it wifi and I'm done...it doesn't even need winMo, just wifi. I could load up an opera browser on it and be on my merry.
i highly doubt it will have wi-fi seeing as the eternity didn't and this is basically an eternity with a slide-out keyboard and amoled display
anyways at&t hates giving people free access to the internet
I've been following this phone for a couple of weeks, now. We're up for renewal next month, and this one really has my interest. Most sources say it should re released this Sunday, Marth 29th. I hope that's right, I've been dying to get my hands on one. The stats look good, but I still have to feel it before I'm sold.
i bet it's got a rockin' OS
i absolutely love my eternity (a867). just wish they would open up an app store!
people who can't afford to pay $30 a month just so they can have the next hip gadget
Any word on if it'll support MediaFLO/MobileTV? I don't plan on getting the service now, but it would be nice to have the option.
I played with my friend's SGH-a877 the other day. Apparently her AT&T-employed relative gave her one when she broke her old Eternity. It's pretty much the exact same, like Michael Hillstrom said, but with the upgraded screen (which I didn't immediately notice) and the QWERTY. I was in the market for an Eternity, and would've gone for this version (she didn't know what it was called) if it had SyncML and slightly better apps (Java just won't be cutting it by the time this contract's up). So... I bought a 16GB refurb iPhone.
Any word on the OS this thing is using? That menu screen looks an awful lot like S60v5.
ain't nobody gonna buy this shit
My dad saw this for sale at Costco today. I think this is better than getting a $300 phone cuz there's no data plan...
My ex-wife and good friend sold me one a week before actual release... I love it, but haven't figured how to make a sync with existing calendar on my computer. I hate reading instruction manuals. Can anyone help?
