I like the red color but I would want something with a little different guts.
Why would anyone buy a netbook right now before the advent of the Ion platform?
Dream netbook:
2Gb RAM (which i can upgrade myself)
32Gb SSD
10-11" OLED/LED
Atom 330, or lower power dual core (1.4Ghz?)
Ion graphics
WWAN
g/n WiFi
I'd add Windows 7 to that list too. If they only can get the price right, which they can't.

They just update their models every month or so, .. at some point you are right, but they have netbooks with something new everyone month... in other words they are just trying to make perfect one..

We sell loads of netbooks so when we launch new ones we are obviously meeting demand or else we would be wasting loads of money for no reason

Kill the logo, i like the Asus logo and it doesnt make you look like you bought your netbook from the Early Learning Centre...
You know what Asus, take an example from dell and open a customize option for your netbooks online. There really is no need to manufacture so many niche netbooks, most people would be happy with a 1000HE. Oh, do yourself a favor and get rid of the Eee logo on the front of the netbooks (just use Asus), it's unslightly and the second reason I won't be buying your netbooks. The first reason being you keep whoring out all these sub-notebooks.
Funny thing is that you tapped in on the problem. You think they can just "magically" make it so you can customize your notebook online? The Eee PC you get was never touched by anyone after the factory in Taiwan. They don't have a factory in the US like Dell that is required to customize computers. That's why you can only buy ASUS through third party sites and not from ASUS themselves, they just make a complete laptop and sell them to resellers.
The 1002HA can be turned into a 1002HAE with the 1000HE keyboard swapped in. Thats what I did. I'm sure the LED LCD will fit just fine too.
