Corsair DDR3 memory clocked at 2533MHz, women swoon 'round the world

Corsair -- the swashbucklin' favorite of privateers in need of RAM and SSDs -- has just announced that its Dominator GT DDR3 memory has been overclocked at a pretty astonishing 2533MHz. As you'd expect from a company made of braggarts and rogues, its claiming the world record for itself -- unless, of course, one of you other memory manufacturers feels like taking this bad boy on. Kingston, we're looking at you. Hit that read link for all the salacious details.

Thats fast......
That's what she said.
owned Hackettman.
This makes my 1600Mhz DDR3 look slow :(
Daaaaaamn.
YAR!
Similar exclamations of generalized glee!
The only thing faster then that is my sex.
I'm sorry for you.
lol 1 minute man FTW!
Nice, so what's your phone number?
1 minute man is way too generous. Since 2533MHz is equal to a period of 0.395 nanoseconds, MoeJoe must be more like the 0.300 nanosecond man.
i bet it would beat the shit out of mine balistixxx
Isn't that 2.533 ghz? Or does it work differently for memory?
im pretty sure SI works no matter what your measuring..
yeah, same difference. they probably won't refer to the speed in gigahertz b/c of it's connotations with processor speed.
its*
now that's my kind of romance novel!
What system is even going to be able to use this? The i7s get pissy if you push them much past 1800 or so. I had to drop mine down from 1600 to 1333 to get it to run with all 6 DIMMS. AMD's AM3 getting mem clocked that high?
Screw the memory, I want those abs.
Screw the abs, I want that lass.
No one wants to screw the lass?
The lass would get boring after a few months (or minutes).
But with the abs, you could have many lasses.
Get the abs, screw the lass (literally, that is) and overclock the ram. Why not have all three? :)
lol love the title!
Is that the worlds fasted overclocked DDR3 in your pocket? Or are you just happy to see me?
Best thing is they used 3 sticks of RAM at that speed... most other world records have been set with a single stick for maximum stability when pushing it higher. Quite beastly DIMMs.
$5 says it will cost $500 for a 2 gig stick
Sheesh. How long before RAM gets its own HSF?
I wonder if any other i7 besides the 975 could run with the memory clocked that high...
That's all very nice and all, but can we see some gaming benchmarks? If all it does is increase my FPS from 120 to 125, I'd say "who cares".
Maybe some non-gaming application will see a decent boost in performance because of this?
I don't care at all about memory speeds past 1600 (or even 1333) for that matter...
What's actually important: when are the 4GB DDR3 sticks going to be coming in?
I'm assuming you have a motherboard to support them?
All the ones I've seen max out with 2 gig sticks
That's like asking if your steering wheel can do 200MPH.
I dunno about Crysis, but from the look of I bet the blend pretty good.
I'm not buying a new computer until I can get DDR4 memory.
woah!! 2533MHz!!!!
THATS OVER 2000!!!
think i'll keep my kingston 2000mhz ddr3. cost much less i can only imagine how much these will cost.
John Stamos? Lookin' kinda ripped there!
whats the stock latency? 11? 12?
i'll stick with the 2000mhz mushkins at 8
7-8-7-20
Owned XD
Seems pretty useless and there is no way you can overclock any existing CPU to achieve 1:1 with these.
"Why so slow?"
This is stupid you cant use this with a Core i7 or your risking killing your processor and with AMD the only motherboard that will support this kind of overclock is the MSI 790fx and really they dont recommend anything over 1800mhz. Even some games will not play over 2000mhz.
you're stupid.
Why is he stupid?
I think it makes sense to not buy something you can't use!
You don't buy a car that you can't drive!
Do you buy shorts for yourself that don't fit you and never will?
For 99% of even high end users, these sticks arent worth it. The significance is not that they are incredibly usefully, it is that progress is being mate towards higher level technology. I could easily see these running at the same bus speed as the clock speed of some ridiculous 16 core process. Then my i7 will just look like an old core 2 duo.
The problem with this is that for people who are somewhat hardware deficient will not know that Core i7 CPU's will most certainly fry with this ram and even though AMD can in theory supports this Dimm you may still have problems with programs running on it. For example I have heard that 2000mhz DDR3 Dimms not working with Valve games and iTunes I can't confirm it, but it sounded legit.
