Where can I hand deliver my resume?

waterwagen @ Jun 5th 2009 5:47PM
The more the better! Can't get enough podcasting goodness.
congoose @ Jun 5th 2009 6:09PM
I had to laugh when I saw 45mins of Pre on the show notes. That's some serious Palm-lovin'...
CH3BURASHKA @ Jun 5th 2009 6:47PM
2 damn hours. YES.
Marin @ Jun 5th 2009 7:12PM
I agree with Josh that the whole "Apple may sue Palm" thing is way overblown and makes for a better narrative than an actual news story.
jmsbar @ Jun 5th 2009 8:17PM
Why do engadget insist on making these video podcast's. They stop whenever I do anything else on my iphone.
Can't check email and listen at the same time. I don't think we would miss anything with keeping these as audio podcasts only...
lax @ Jun 6th 2009 5:09AM
That's not Engadget's fault, the iphone/ipod touch sometimes chokes on the enhanced aac files (the one's with bookmarks) and makes it play as a video, you could d/l the mp3 over the air and that should work fine, or d/l to iTunes then sync. Works for me :)
Pies @ Jun 5th 2009 8:54PM
Very good podcast, didn't seem long.

Quote of the podcast.
"I'm going to buy a motion plus and me and my buddies are going to sword fight eachother."

Prepare to be surprised Josh -- I only have an Xbox Live Silver account. I think Natal may be great technology, but they didn't show any applications that interested me as a gamer. In my opinion, Sony's showed things that were more compelling for gaming. Overall, Microsoft put on the best show, but I disagree that they blew Sony out of the water.
Eddie @ Jun 10th 2009 8:16AM
I only have a silver membership also.

Why are OEM's continuing to develop new smartphones with poor battery life? And saying that you can replace the battery with a 2nd fully charged one isn’t a good answer. If the tradeoff of having a bigger battery is a thicker and heavier phone, then fine, I’ll take it. The only thing that might be more frustrating than a dead battery is a dead zone in network coverage.
Melina @ Jun 7th 2009 12:17PM
Fantastic show guys!! I may just have to get me a pre, even though I have a treo 755p on verizon under contract still!
I was so happy to see such a long show! The longer the better!
James @ Jun 7th 2009 6:37PM
get some sleep josh
Jeff @ Jun 8th 2009 7:58AM
Thanks for the extra-long podcast. More is better.
Josh, please stop correcting yourself when you use relative day words in regards to when you record the podcast versus when you will make it available for download. Nobody cares, honest. I suspect most people don't listen to the podcast the day it is made available, which makes even your corrections wrong.
Use "today", "tomorrow", and "yesterday" relative to when you record the podcast. We're smart enough to know that you are speaking relative to when you recorded, which is probably not the day we're listening to the podcast.
Thanks!

At around 52:45 in the podcast they start bitching about why wouldn't people pay for Xbox Live. I like gadgets, have a 360, and won't pay for Live. I have a largish stack of free live cards that came with software I purchased and from the 2 times I had to get RROD's fixed. I tried it once, and couldn't see the appeal. On the one 30 day card I used, I bet I didn't use it more than 10 minutes. We use the 360 as a media extender 95% of the time. Netflix does nothing for me since there already is too much crap on cable I have DVR'ed using Vista Media Center or torrented. The only new feature I somewhat like is last-FM, which I listen to all the time on the computer. It really doesn't make a whole lot of sense that I have to turn on the TV and the stereo and the X-box if I want to listen to some music.
I guess it is one of those generational things. I am 47 years old, and been messing with computers since '82.
One other rant.. You have Engadget Mobile, so why do you fill so much of your podcasts and regular Engadget with cell phone stuff?
Eddie @ Jun 10th 2009 8:27AM
I agree. I usually listen to a podcast over multiple days (while commuting to/from work) so getting the yesterday/today correct means nothing to me.
Eddie @ Jun 10th 2009 8:28AM
^--- was supposed to be a reply to Jeff
Eddie @ Jun 10th 2009 8:30AM
Just one more comment to make. While it was a good podcast, there was a lot of talking over each other and interrupting. It's sometimes annoying when someone is trying to make an interesting statement only to be interrupted halfway through.
mploog1 @ Jun 10th 2009 6:28PM
guys, really, i LOVE the podcast but after listening to you guys bash PS3 for like 20 minutes, i just HAVE to say that contrary to your frequent statements that XBOX 360 is so much cheaper than PS3, let me be the one to say you could NOT BE MORE INCORRECT! as a PS3 owner since launch (yes, one of the 24 people that got suckered into buying it for $600) i finally broke down last month and added a 360 to my PS3 and Wii collection. the 360 is BY FAR the most expensive on the market! i originally wanted an Elite but after about 6 trips to different stores unable to find an Elite Jasper system, i settled for the Pro Jasper over the Arcade ($300) i got it home only to find out it not only excludes wireless, but i need to buy rechargeable battery packs AND a special charger to charge said battery packs ($15 for the battery, $30 for the charger) then i needed to purchase a wireless network adapter ($99) and if that wasn't bad enough, after i plunked down all THAT money, i found out the hard way that in order to play my friends online, i had to spend EVEN MORE MONEY to get a one year xbox live membership ($50). Bringing the total ammount to $494 which is exactly $94 MORE EXPENSIVE for the SAME THING the PS3 gives you right out of the box for $400, wait, let me correct myself, you actually get more out of the box with PS3 since it also plays blu-ray discs!!!! don't get me wrong, i LOVE my new 360 and all the badass XBL arcade games that aren't available on PS3, but really, the fact of the matter is, the 360 is 25% MORE EXPENSIVE than the PS3 and it still doesn't play BLU-RAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Patrick Kelleher @ Jun 14th 2009 5:34PM
Alrite guys,
This was actually the most epic of your podcasts! Absolutely hilarious, although when ye were talking about the PSP Go I was amazed that you didn't discuss the DS more which wipes its ass with a PSP - and the DSi is nearly $100 cheaper, the DS lite is over $100 cheaper! and the games are far better on the DS, now all of the games need a stylus.
