Ooooh somebody said Zune HD down the comment line...totally forgot. Well all the three total I just said actually do play HD so it's justified.
the 3'gah'speed will pave way for longer and longer iphone titles in the future. I foresee: iphoneHD (but maybe not because of the ZuneHD...), the iphone crossover (I believe that eventually there will be a crossover OS development where you have a good bit of OSX functionality on iphone , this will come with a design change- think screen extending to edges of the device so more things can be done in the interface) And maybe , just maybe a iphone BP (business professional) with hardware keyboard. :3

I was going to say, it doesn't surprise me that they changed the name to Instinct HD. Cus over a month ago it was made obvious in the high rez Zagg pic, then confirmed by World1-1 that the "Instinct 2" has hdmi out on the right side. The high rez pic has a hatch that says VIDEO on it. World1-1 says he has an HD option in video record mode. But so little love has been paid to this phone thru all mobile news sites that no one talked about it. I'm still excited, and I'm still looking forward to the BREW OS.

So are they finally going to get it right? this is, after all, their third attempt. My guess is no, they are not going to get it right. Sprint can't write an OS any better than I can solve our economy's problems.

no, i didn't know that; because you're wrong. sprint writes the OS for it. I used to own an instinct and was very active in sprints forums. Sprint deals with bugs and releases the patches. If you call samsung support about the instinct they will tell you that they just make the hardware and refer you to sprint for any software related problems.

Im complaining. HD is the worst title because most companies use it based on there own bias law teams perception.
The instinct isnt exactly a dumbphone, but to expect it to play HD video is remarkable. If they pull it off good for them, but when it inevitably fails, i expect plenty of letters going to their advertising department.
The zune actually matters, this is just one of hundreds of touchscreen phones samsung over saturates the market with. Excuse most people for not caring.
Everything is "HD" these days. I saw an ad on the television the other day promoting laser eye surgery that would give you "HD vision". I guess it's the same kind of idea as TV dinners?

Odd I had two Instinct S30s and I had zero osk lag. Infact I thought its osk was leaps and bounds beyond what my G1s osk is.
Oh no, this is terrible. The Zune HD ( HD tag used to trick unsuspecting neophytes ) will now lose its miniscule perceived momentum if these products add the "HD" moniker to their name. Poor Zune. It's 15 minutes of fame already washed away.... ;-)

Wny in god's name are they still using that same crapass interface? That was one of our biggest complaints about Instinct verson 1. The Instinct s going to SUCK until they get an OS that is worth using and developing for. As it stands the 2 current Instincts are absolutely horrible. I'm not sure if Samsung knows this or not, but usually when you release a follow up phone, you are supposed to make it BETTER than the previous, not WORSE! After a year long series of disappointments with faulty updates, craptastic apps and pisspoor support from Sprint, I gave up on the Instinct and moved on to the greener pastures of the iPhone. I have been absolutely happy ever since.
I mean come on, we are talking about a phone here that the only option to fix the slow music loading times was to limit how many songs the player could support. So if you had over 1100 songs, too f'n bad because the Instinct will not support your large library. Your 8gb MicroSD card became instantly useless. This is a phone that had to have firmware updates pulled and force downgrades sent back to the poor saps who got the updated firmware. The GPS got updated about 8 months ago, lasted for about 36 hours and then pulled. As of yet and as far as I know, the GPS update is still in limbo.
The app contest was an absolute epic level of failure. The best thing Sprint and Samsung can do for the Instinct brand name s to move that sucker over to Android and make it a real phone.
Why is this still a dumbphone proprietary OS? I mean honestly.. No one is going to buy this with the Palm Pre on the table from the same carrier, unless they are mentally impaired.
I had the instinct and went to the Palm Pre, I hate the Palm Pre. Its a great device if you are looking for a device and not a phone! I have tried both, I am going back to the instinct! By far the best phone I have owned.
My gps has never had an issue and I have an Instinct purchased day one. Also, the 2K songs on my 8 GB microSD card load in less than 30 seconds initially and abou 10 secs. each time after that.
