This is all still firmly in the realm of rumors and speculation for the time being, but some purportedly legit internal Verizon documents obtained by BlackberryOS.com are offering a bit more fodder suggesting that the BlackBerry Storm 2 could be launching in October -- or October 14th, specifically. The same documents also point to an October launch for Motorola's Android-based Sholes smartphone, as well as a "mid-October" launch for LG's vx8575 "Chocolate Touch" (which we assume is the same or a variant of the BL40 Chocolate Touch). All in all a pretty big month for Verizon -- assuming everything actually pans out as rumored, of course.

my contract(alltel) is up in the beginning of october... hmmm... verizon it is.
Anyone know what chipset the Storm 2 is using? I'm curious how it fares against other devices.
Also did anyone else read "A855 Sholes" wrong at first?

but really. will they/won't they? i dont wanna buy it (like i did my blackberry, and my friend his omnia) to find out we couldn't use things like GPS.
i'm not sure, it seems right now like they won't be, but i had fairly limited exposure to the actual phone

The twitter VZWOoffers foilks have been very coy about the upcoming releases. If this is true, then I suspect they were wrong when they said "I think you will be very happy with the new phones that will be released soon".
Meanwhile, my vzw cellphone that went through the washer and dryer still doesn't work (very well), and my NE2 is burning a hole in my pocket,,,

I'm still seeing a million different things about release dates.
Oh man, I HATE Blackberries. I guess I'll never get over the dozens of times I sat in important meetings or tried to have a conversation with some self-absorbed, uber-important individual that was half-heartedly paying attention while simultaneously thumbing their thing.
We should be rooting for products from Palm and Motorola that are US based (nothing against Canadians I add) and employ a significant number of employees in the states.

The Chocolate Touch is not the BL40 or even remotely like it.
Why do you say that, do you have another model number? Do you have a site you could credit that info to?
