Verizon's HTC Imagio toyed with on video, sized up against BlackBerry Storm
Interested in HTC's upcoming slate of WinMo 6.5 goodness for Verizon? How interested? Interested enough to peek a minty fresh video of the thing in action? If you're nodding your head up and down with any level of ferocity, we'd encourage you to re-familiarize yourself with the specifications, come to terms with the fact that there's no way you're laying hands on this yourself prior to October 6th, click on past the break and mash play. In that order, please.

ok for a second i thought it was HTC lmao...
Wow. A ton of cool phones coming out of the blue next week!
Under the hood is WinMo which is not so cool dude. Look like a dork when you
have to carry a stylus. :)
How did this slip by verizon's change every OS UI dept.?
Haven't used WM6.5 in a while, need a refresher course on notification icons, cos' that taskbar is jam packed with them.
HTC have a new notification system on their recent phones. Tap the bar and a menu appears listing all the notifications, what they mean and you can tap each one to deal with it, or dismiss them all.
More FUD. Verizon doesn't change UI on smartphones.
talk about SCREEN murder, those nails will ruin the phone
is it just me or does it look more MATTE/Rubbery than the TP2
how does it get TV signal? is it via 3g or is it getting ANALOG/RF signal?
I had the TV service on my Voyager for a while. It's through the data, not direct ATSC reception.
Seems compressed horizontally.

This picture and a picture from the following link
http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/01/htc-imagio-launches-on-verizon-winmo-6-5-and-vcast-tv-on-octobe/
compared after resizing the second image to the same horizontal size as the picture in this page.
Thank you for trying to understand my complicated sentence.
The TP2 is 116 x 59 x 17 and I suspect this phone is also very close if not exactly the same. So we're looking at almost a 2 x 1 ratio for the length x width. To me, it looks like not one image captured the true shape of the phone. The first of your links looks way too long and the second looks too short.
116 / 59 = 1.97
If you calculate height (464 pixels) by width (244 pixels) of the picture in the second link (lets call it official press shot), you'll get 1.90, which means the picture is normal.
Sometimes its hard to believe your own eyes till you go and calculate everything yourself xD
You guys need to embed all videos so I can watch them at work lol
Meh. Looks like not the latest Touch Flo 3D and also looks resistive.
It has star AND pound!!! Back up now. She could have gone into a little more detail with the keyboard. Will the keyboard go horizontal?
her nails are huge... i hate them
Why, if I may ask, do you hate them?
Just not a fan of the big nail look... I feel like you could very easily tear out my eyes
Trim those nails, please!
What's wrong with long fingernails?
I'm a chick with long fingernails, and it comes in handy sometimes, especially when handling a resistive screen. I don't even use my DS stylus much when playing Scribblenauts.
"A pre-digital clock".....that was priceless! lol
Couldn't watch any farther than 2mins! Fake nails just gross me out, no offense!
I can't say this for sure (the video's quality isn't too clear) but her nails may not be fake. Just because they're long and shiny, doesn't mean they're fake. It's not hard to grow out one's nails, and they're shiny with extra white tips because of nail polish.
But, as I said, I can't say for sure. I'm just speaking from my own experience with real long nails.
LOL. Some have beat me to it regarding her (annoyingly) long finger nails.
"Hey we're conducting a demo of a touch screen phone so we need someone to volunteer. How about you, Betty with the long finger nails?"
Can't help but feel that that was a PR person doing that the way she was exaggerating some features (like scrolling through pictures) and detailing every little insignificant thing (yes I know the back/delete key would logically erase numbers that I just dialed... now move on to something more juicy, like settings and maybe browser performance)...
Looks interesting, though its still a WinMo/Verizon phone, which for me personally is not appealing (even with the pretty good skinning job HTC does).
Anyone know if this coming to Sprint phonearena.com says its coming to sprint but the "HTC Touch Diamond2 CDMA" anyone know????
Anyone know if this coming to Sprint phonearena.com says its coming to sprint but as the "HTC Touch Diamond2 CDMA" anyone know????

It may come to Sprint but this is a different phone. It is based on the TD2 but it is different, sprint maybe getting the TD2 which looks much different and has a different screen size, I believe. Verizon had HTC re-manufacture the TD2 just for them and they called it the Imagio.
I hate those kinds of nails! OMFG!!! They are just FREAKY! They seem all the rage these days but I'm totally creeped out by them. Normal Nails!! FTW!
What would you consider "normal" nails? Is it the length, the shape, the shine...what is it?
I admit, I'm not a fan of the square shape, but for accuracy on a resistive screen, having long nails is very useful.
Wow, could you find anyone less tech savvy, she is horrible.
What she just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
I thought this video was about wm 6.5?
All she showed was the Touch Flo interface, same as on the TP2.
My only question is whether or not Verizon is going to turn off GPS on it except for use with VZNavigator. They decided to be nice with the Storm, but will they do it with the other new smartphones?
Apparently leaving the GPS alone is something that Verizon will do for all smart phones from now on. I know my omnia got the GPS unlocked at the end of June this year. Enough people complained that hardware they paid for was being locked from use, and Big V finally gave in.
There's a second video showing the Verizon V Cast TV in action : http://www.mobiletechworld.com/2009/10/03/verizon-htc-imagio-video-overview/
