I love Guitar hero and Rockband, they are and excellent way to play pretend-rockstar... BUT... buying a custom controller to play pretend-rockstar is kind of sad.

I always felt people would upgrade from the game to the real thing and stop pretending, not try to make the game less fake. and for that money you can get a real guitar and start practicing.

No. If they release any Beatle-specific peripherals in the future, one of them should be a sunburst Casino. I was a bit stunned that they didn't make one from the beginning. That was THE Lennon guitar. It was an icon. I would have preferred a Casino controller and a twelve-string Rick instead, but they really wanted to use their early instruments it seems (and yet a good deal of the game and the upcoming DLC was written in their later years).

I love American Teles for their nice twang and general versatility, but playing on a fake Tele controller... :( I think that's just kind of scary.

Considering Gibson's current (or is it over) lawsuit against everyone involved with Guitar Hero and Rock Band, I doubt we'll see any Gibson- or Epiphone-branded guitars anytime (again) soon.

As much as I'd like the Casino, I doubt it will ever happen... though it would cover Paul, George, and John... interchangable headstock and a Bigsby option, if they wanted to get real creative...

I think guitarist (myself included) don't mind playing fake guitar as long as the experience is enjoyable and rewarding.

I'm all for Rock Band/Guitar Hero turning kids onto good music and inspiring some people to play real guitar, but how many intermediate steps do they need to make it from a plastic 1/2 size guitar to a real guitar?

Here's an idea for a Guitar Hero Controller: Make a guitar hero controller that can be strung up and played as a real guitar. They're halfway there with the real wood fender controllers. That would be worth the money.

The whole "get a real guitar" line does not bother me in this case. Why pay for a fake guitar when you can get a real (yet crappy) real guitar for that price. I also hate that line when a new game is released because ITS A GAME its not suppose to take over the world of real guitar playing. I didnt tell my friends to stop playing DDR because they could go learn how to really dance.

yeah dude. Fake guitar games are cool. I play every instrument in Rock Band but I still like going to a friend's house on a Wednesday night, sitting down with some people that don't play anything but have decent enough rhythm for medium difficulty and playing songs without EVER hearing them before.
This new guitar looks SICK, by the way. I mean I still like the real deal, but awesome design
