Palm 'Pixe' (probably Pixi) populates FCC pages

Thought you could fool us by renaming it "Pixe" in the file, eh Palm? We're onto you... not that it matters given you've already announced a release date. At any rate, the Palm Pixi has popped up in the FCC database, being tested for CDMA/1xEVDO Rel 0 and EVDO Rev. A along with Bluetooth... and naturally, no WiFi. Not much else to say here and the most interesting pics are locked under a confidentiality agreement. Of course, there's always a chance this is an entirely different Sprint-bound phone lacking WiFi, but that'd just be cruel.

As much as I love my Palm Pre, the Palm pixi will be the phone I will recommend to all of my family members who what a Smart Phone with a small form factor and large enough screen for web browsing, taking pictures (with flash), and listening to Internet radio – not to mention the incredible phone call quality.

And Palm, next time - don't mess around with your product's name... you should have called it something completely different... like "Cloud".

Palm's stock tanked today, even after the Pixie news. The stock has dropped almost four dollars in just two weeks.

Sad, I thought they had a chance.

palms stock is far from tanking.. they had a chance already and seized the moment, where were you last december when it was at $1. anyways.. the whole market is down in the past two weeks, that's just how the market works in the short run. some call it tanking and I call it opportunity

on a side note.. I like the pixi.. it's actually more like the palm phone I've always envisioned.. I'd rather have this than the pre because it appears to be more durable and the keys are always ready to use

To the second and third posters of this thread - give us a break.

Palm's stock plummeted after they announced the price and launch of a key device in their attempted "comeback" - The Market said the way only The Market can say:

Though PALM is a high-beta stock (its price swings, while often matching The Market's moves, are amplified relative to those moves), the movement being discussed was totally out-of-the-ordinary for the day of introduction of a critical device.

No wifi, no deal.

The battery life is what keeps me on the bench with Palm. I;ve seen first hand the low battery lif of the pre. I want none of it. I do love the OS.

Yet, battery trumps OS when the phone can't last 24 hours. I forget to charge every night, and I don't want to be bothered with second batteries, or a dead phone.
