Ask Massively: Donut budget edition

It's time for another installment of Ask Massively, where this site's fine staff gives advice and answers to your questions through the very scientific involvement of blindfolds and dart boards.

This week, we talk about news from The Secret World and specifics on DCUO's bonuses. Follow along after the jump for the answers and be sure to get your own questions in to either ask@massively.com or as a comment to this post.

Aaron asks: I was wondering why we haven't heard anything from The Secret World since mid-June. A lot has happened in the industry since then (especially E3), but with no word. I was really looking forward to this one, so, my question is why the silence?

They're busy making a game! Seriously though, while they have been quieter than they were at the beginning of the year, there are certainly small tidbits out there. Returning from Gamescom in Germany, there were a few morsels for us to savor. Tomorrow is actually the day that the Gamescom info embargo lifts, so keep your eyes out for tons of info from that. The forums are an excellent place to keep up-to-date on what the rabid TSW fans are discovering, as well as Ragnar Tornquist's Twitter account. He likes to give us teases as to what he's worked on each day, during the game's development.

But beyond that, we have both PAX and Dragon*Con coming up in a week. I would bet the entire Massively donut budget that we will hear some great stuff very soon*.

* Massively has no donut budget. Take that as you will.

Brandon asks: Do you know how the DC Universe Online bonuses are going to be handled? Will they be separate codes or tied to the serial number? I want to pre-order the the physical Collector's Edition and the digital release from Steam. I want to tie both pre-order bonuses along with the CE bonuses to one account. Then, I want to give the second copy/license/install of the game to my girlfriend. Beyond that, I hope to pick up some of the other pre-order items on eBay. Think any of that will be possible?

Great questions! Unfortunately, we don't know the answers to them right now, BUT... your timing is excellent. We have an interview with Game Director Chris Cao today and I've sent these questions along to him to be answered with the rest. Watch for that interview to show up on Massively soon, complete with the answers to your questions.
