John Daly's ProStroke Golf tees off Oct. 5 on PS3, Oct. 19 on 360

Gusto Games' upcoming stab (swing?) at adapting the world's oldest sport into a much more palatable video game format, titled John Daly's ProStroke Golf, has been given staggered release dates on its two designated platforms. The PS3 version of the title will arrive on October 5, and will ship with native support for the PlayStation Move. The Xbox 360 version will make its way to store shelves on October 19, and will not ship with native support for the PlayStation Move, because that would be ridiculous.

If you 360 owners are worried about being surpassed in skill by your early-starting, PS3-playing counterparts, don't fret -- all you have to do is seek some Stroking council from the most august Pro we know: Mr. Clarence Carter.

O-GAMES TO UNLEASH 'THE LION' IN NORTH AMERICA ON OCTOBER 5, 2010!

'JOHN DALY'S PROSTROKE GOLF' COMING TO PLAYSTATION 3 OCTOBER 5TH AND XBOX 360 OCTOBER 19TH

Twain Harte, Calif – September 27, 2010 – International videogame publisher O-Games revealed today the launch date for golf title, John Daly's ProStroke Golf. The only golf game officially endorsed by 'The Lion' himself, John Daly's ProStroke Golf will offer fans of the genre a genuinely unique take on golf gaming when it officially tees off on October 5th for PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and October 19th for Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

From Oxfordshire-based developer Gusto Games, John Daly's ProStroke Golf is the spiritual sequel to ProStroke Golf: World Tour 2007, incorporating all the features that have made the series a hit with gamers. The trademark ProStroke control system, a first-person view of the ball and club head, offers the closest representation of a natural golf swing available with no artificial barriers to impede shot performance. The title is also the first golf game to have been built from the ground up incorporating PlayStation Move technology, giving PlayStation 3 system owners the ability to rotate the club head in real-time, punch and chip the ball according to the input movement, simulate weight transfer and much more.

"John Daly's ProStroke Golf represents the next chapter in an exciting adventure we started with Gusto Games back in the PlayStation 2 era," said Jim Scott, CEO of O-Games. "Given his eye-catching ability, personality and style, John Daly was a natural choice for us to front the title and we're confident his fans, and golf fans in general, will be suitably impressed."

Sam Torrance and Peter Kessler provide lively commentary across 12 varied and challenging courses, populated with interactive spectators to bring a rich match-day atmosphere to life. Away from the tournaments and exhibitions gamers would expect from a golf title, the 'Challenge Mode' offers a series of golfing trials presented by John Daly himself, as he takes players through the different disciplines of the game, from putting and approach play to the world famous 'Long John' drive itself.
