And on that note, we depart Vegas with a heavy heart -- but not all's lost! CTIA Wireless' sister event in Fall, CTIA Wireless IT & Entertainment, will be in action in early October in lovely San Francisco -- and naturally, we'll be there. Now if you'll excuse us, just one more hand of blackjack before we head for the airport.

at&t sucks.....'nough said.
I'm pretty sure that Chris Ziegler is a legal resident of Las Vegas now. Probably not a good thing, but hey! Tons of bonanzas there.
@Laura June yeah well id rather have bannanas than bonazas. i dont really think the ctia wireless is that great of a thing to boot!
Just be careful if he flies back to the Engadget office to ask for money. Even if he says pretty please.
@Laura June
I give him 3 days tops before he comes begging for an advance. Care to bet?
Where's my HTC Incredible
@einhanderkiller Yeah, I thought it was supposed to be some time March?
@einhanderkiller Verizon's showing in general was disappointing as hell. No Nexus One, no Incredible, no LTE in 1H 2010. Give us salvation!
Where's my Verizon Nexus One?
@Superevil dont even get me started....im pissed too
Another day with no HTC Incredible news. Verizon, my patience is wearing very thin with you.
I wish they would have more cool tech events outside of Vegas once in a while. The East Coast wouldn't kill ya, would it?
@fade2blac Part of the problem is that Vegas is the only place capable of handling such huge shows like CES and NAB (which I'm going to next month... w00t). Vegas can handle 100,000 attendees+ without too much of a sweat, and if you compare the $29 I'm paying to stay at the Sahara to what it would cost in say, NYC, nobody'd be able to afford to go.
Yes, I can agree with you that New York City wouldn't really be ideal for such a large event. I've been to the Javitz Center and it's pretty small and lackluster. I was actually thinking more along the lines having it in Orlando, which is where I reside and I work with the Orange County Convention Center. The OCCC is actually the 2nd largest convention center in the country (I believe Chicago is 1st) and would have ample space to host such an event. There are 100,000+ hotel rooms in the area of the convention center as well. As far as prices go, I think we could compete. Orlando aside, I'd just like to see something cool come over here to this side of the U.S, once in a while!
GRRRR i was waiting for any n1 or incredible news looks like im stuck with you eris....i still love ya
@DS82 i just got this eris too and im running 1.5 in hopes to return to the store within 30 days. times running out for me...ima haff ta root-a-bitch
Palm wasn't in attendance?
I'm so close to giving up on Palm. I was hoping they'd announce new hardware. I'd really like to invest in them and show them some support. I was gonna get the Evo 4G for my little brother and the next Palm device (provided it is a good form factor) for my mother.
Oh well. I give em a year if they don't do something fast...
Pretty drab on the hardware side aside from the Evo. i1, nice, but not anything great. Zio affordable Android, ok. LG with 2 feature phones that are pretty meh, nothing new (actually they also has a dual SIM phone that Phonedog posted a hands on of). And then the Dell Aero, which apparently has some sort of top secret skin that At&t doesn't want people to see (must have been missing all of their crapware).
Anyone else annoyed with the lack of a announcement for a release date of the Verizon Nexus One? I'm waiting albeit less patiently Google..
@badwolf
Yea seriously, all I wanted out of CTIA, was a freakin Nexus One Announcement
@RevisionZero
Yep this is f'n bs
where'z my motoroi
@mpv Wheres my Motoroi? anyone knows if the Korean one is gsm?
I ate a brick to prepare for the announcement of the Nexus One on Verizon.
Still waiting.
Incredible event for Android.
BTW, I hate AT&T. All they do is disappoint.
"Look, we have Android. We just crippled it a little bit by removing the ability to download non-Market apps. Oh and we also replaced Google with Yahoo! on our first one and loaded it with carrier crapware."
"What? Everyone's upgrading to 4G tech soon? Don't worry we don't plan to for another couple of years. Hey if everyone's on 4G, and we're still on 3G, we can still say the "nation's fastest 3G network", right?"
"Ha. Isn't it hilarious that we're headquartered in Texas, but Verizon still has better coverage there."
--------------------------------------------------------------------
If it wasn't for the huge discount I get with them, I'd have left a while back. I just might do it for the Evo 4G, though.
at&t fucking blows. why couldn't they announce a good device? they promised 2 this year, it'll be pathetic if they can't get one out in the first half of it, which is what it's starting to look like.
@trevortx i meant a good htc device.
I'm ultimately bummed at the lack of Dell Mini 5 news.
@XChrisX
Same here, spent the last few days checking engadget every 30 minutes or so just hoping for even a vague estimate of a release date.
@Rhiven
that's exactly what i was doing hoping for the htc desire coming to at&t.
@Rhiven I imagine it's coming soon ie: summer release date, but I was hoping for an official announcement as my almost 2 year old iPhone 3g is growing long in the tooth. I need to replace this aging handset ASAP.
Funny how amazing new devices such as the HTC Evo were announced, and the biggest announcement from Apple was Opera running in the iPhone. Hilarious! Fanboys really need to wake up and smell the @#$%^.
Apple didn't announce that. Now you stop smelling the @#$%^
@akarol I'm hoping once the iPad is actually released and gets rolling that Apple will at least make a mention of iPhone OS 4.0 Seems long overdue if they expect developers to start coding for it.
the EVO was the ONLY worthwhile news from the whole CTIA.
whatever happened to the INCREDIBLE?
and is the EVO coming to europe? or is this payback for the HD2 in europe first :(
