The JooJoo is here... seriously (updated with video)
Of all days for this thing to arrive... it had to be today. Yes folks, as you can see in our gallery below, the JooJoo is not only real, but we've got one. We're not going to go into details right now, as we've got our hands kind of full this week, but we suggest you hang tight until our review hits (probably early next week) so you can make the final decision if it's going to be this thing or, you know, some other tablet. Or maybe you just want to keep that $500. Hey, it's your call, pal. For now, check out our unboxing, and at least breathe a sigh of relief that if you did shell out for one of these, it's likely going to hit your doorstep pretty darn soon.
Update: Hey folks, we've got a video encoding right now which runs through some of the UI of the device. We hear you in comments, and would like to let you know that there's no conspiracy here -- it's a question of spending time with a device to review it properly. Unless you know what our schedule is like, we'd appreciate everyone chilling out on the episodes in comments. We're happy to shut them off on this post if you can't control yourselves.
Update 2: Comments are off, video is after the break. Thanks for being mature. Just kidding.

@Mrwirez don't dream it, do it!
Can it multitask?
@Heywatchitbuddy all it has is internet
@Heywatchitbuddy
why is it that engadget have their hands full? oh let me guess King Jobs has ordered you to bombard the net with Ipad articles... let me guess about 30 articles Ipad related for each day? I know we can choose to ignore those articles but even when we do we end up having anything Apple mentioned on the other articles not related to apple tags. So sad :(
@Heywatchitbuddy
i think it just does internet.. so it has nothing else to multitask *with* as far as i know... could be wrong. but it looks really cool. i actually have high hopes for it... here's to a good review, joojoo
(see that? i rhymed... high five me! no?... ok...)
@nickcraze If you think Engadget is bad, I suggest you steer way away from any Gawker site (hint hint).
@Heywatchitbuddy
Holy Sh... DO WANT!
@Realityism You have to take it out of the box before you can review it.
@suicidebob
"We're not going to go into details right now, as we've got our hands kind of full this week(iPad Tag link)..."
Well, you're pretty dumb.
@Matt l I actually went there last week to see how it was and the entire front page was about the iPad, how they manage to keep their readers interested by talking about 1 product for an entire week is beyond me.
@Realityism
and to not give this article a "BREAKING NEWS" tag is also beyond me...
@Heywatchitbuddy
I doubt. @Engadget, so rumors of iPhone are "Breaking News" and the actual release of a product we talked about a lot isn't?
@werty1432k
weird, because this has an apple link and an admittance that no new news will appear because of the ipad...
i think people have a right to be angry at engadgets fanboyism this time...
If they had 1 they would review it. Come on. Get Real
Suggestion: give me the joojoo and you can sit rubbing your ipads ;P
@HoldenMccrotch
In other news, it's just recently been announced that Engadget is officially changing their name to "TUAW". News at 11.
@likeobama So Gizmodo could knock it around, being the hotbed of Apple fanboyism themselves?
It lives!
@Lord Vader On your way? Just use force crush. Epil fail Vader, epic fail.
@Evster88
You should know that Lord Vader only has to vote on your post in order for it to disappear.
@Lord Vader
lol, where's Luke to save the day!?
@Plazmic Flame
You weren't supposed to tell him damnit!
@Lando Calrissian
I don't know what all this trouble is about, but I'm sure it must be your fault.
@Evster88 What is Epil fail? A failure to shave?
Dude, open that thing right now and throw out an unboxing video! (you don't even have to say anything)
Beezeeel!
@One Love
Yeah.... unboxing images is so 2007.
WIDESCREEN FTW.
Must have video review noooooow!.. *gets in his car and drives to fusion garage*
@TareG
The bezel on this device is perfect, it's way smaller than the iPad's.
Also WIDESCREEN FTW!!!!!!!!!! Apple can suck it with their black bars around the video.
engadget troll x2
@hdawggy Really? :|
haha at least it looks nice. still waiting for notion ink adam
@Vennt
Maybe not. NVIDIA is saying that there is no delay and that Slashgear's source is false.
@Vennt you might want to read that article more carefully
@h4ppidais
Yes, becuase the first response NVIDIA is going to have to a journalist asking if they are having delays or trouble with the Tegra 2 chipset is "Yes, i'ts true." :P
/s
Where there is smoke, there's fire :P
@Vennt
well, let us hope that's not true because this truly beats all of its competition
@Vennt
Update: NVIDIA tell us that the rumors aren’t true, and that “everything’s on track” with Tegra. We’re checking in with our original source.
AND it has a USB Port!!!
EAT THAT IPAD!!!
@zyo so... what is the use of usb on the device that can only connect you to the internet? other than a key board of course
@h4ppidais
i think the point is:
if even just a basic device has a USB port why cant 'THE NEW GENERATION OF TECH' thing have it?
i never noticed how remarkably similar the design for this was to the ipad. from the bezel to the tapered silver back. theres only so much you can do with a portable screen though i suppose.
Why sit on it for a few days? The iPad isn't available yet. Let us know about it BEFORE the magical tablet appears and sucks up all oxygen.
@DrCollossus Frankly, I want my review to be a good one, not just a quick hands-on. Let them take a few days and actually use the thing before they draw conclusions (and I hope they do the same with the iPad).
@DrCollossus
Quite likely that engadget already has a review unit of the ipad and they're all getting their paws on it. What's the bet that the review will drop hours, nay minutes, after the stores open?
How is the fit and finish? Some of those port covers look shoddy.
@EricS If the hardware is awesome, I don't care if it comes in brown box oem packing.
Ooooo, a new shiney toy.
Oh...its on...its definitely on! Bring forth the JooJoo review with vids. Bath the women and bring them to me...
Although with the way things been going for JooJoo the box is probably empty with a "I owe you" post-it note inside.
PLEASE REVIEW THIS NOW! We need to make our decisions!
