Gmail HTML5-optimized for the iPad
Google announced yesterday that they've optimized the Gmail web app for the iPad. The new user interface for the iPad is built on the Gmail for mobile HTML5 web application and brings Gmail a two-pane view with your list of conversations on the left and your messages to the right.
While the two-pane view is nothing groundbreaking, it is a welcome improvement -- and something MobileMe has had on the desktop since it launched. One can only hope they bring this two-pane functionality to the standard desktop-based Gmail web app.
An interesting note: in the screen shot above (seen larger here) the email account displayed is i.love.html5@gmail.com. Don't we all?
