NintendoWare Weekly: Photo Dojo, Earthworm Jim, Phoenix Wright

If you've had the slightest interest in Photo Dojo, Nintendo's weird DSiWare fighting game that uses the camera to make its fighters, you should download it today. If you don't have any interest in that, you should download it today. If you've never heard of Photo Dojo, go ahead and load up the DSi Shop anyway. If you have a DSi, there's basically no reason you shouldn't download Photo Dojo today.

It's free for the next month, is what we're saying.

WiiWare

  • Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulutions (Capcom, 1 player, 1,000 Wii Points): The Phoenix Wright trilogy conludes, sort of. (Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney on DS is actually all about Phoenix Wright too.)

  • Chess Challenge! (Digital Leisure, 1-2 players, 500 Wii Points): It's chess! With online play, leaderboards, and Mii support! And an exclamation point!

DSiWare

  • Photo Dojo (Nintendo, 1-2 players, free [200 Points starting June 11]): Designed to allow two players to face off on a single DSi, this fighter allows players to take pictures that become the in-game sprites.

  • Earthworm Jim (Gameloft, 1 player, 500 DSi Points): Aside from weird DSi camera integration (occasional "facial-expression-based challenges" in which you're asked to mimic Jim's expression) it's the classic, painfully difficult platformer you remember.

  • Chess Challenge! (Digital Leisure, 1-2 players, 500 DSi Points): This version swaps out the online for local wireless.

  • Flips: The Enchanted Wood (EA, 1 player, 500 DSi Points): If you've been following the story in the downloadable book series so far, you won't want to miss this -- it's definitely another one of those books.

Once again, there's nothing on Virtual Console, and therefore there won't be a VC in Brief today.
