MSI rolls out GT660 gaming laptop with Dynaudio sound system
We caught sight of this one back around CeBIT time, but MSI's just officially dropped some fuller details on the GT660. The HD16-incher will be powered by a quad core Intel i7 CPU, a 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285M chipset, up to 12GB of RAM and a standard 500GB hard drive. It also boasts two USB 3.0 ports, HDMI output, plus a 9-cell battery and a Dynaudio sound system. There's no word on pricing or availability yet but we'll let you know when we do.

Cool
@Androdic
why was this article removed?
www.engadget.com/2010/06/09/iphone-or-evo-which-one-should-you-get/
this was posted today and was deleted all of a sudden. was it because iphone came out all bad in the comparison?
@coolkams03
well the question is directed to the engadget editors
http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/09/iphone-or-evo-which-one-should-you-get/
@coolkams03
Android
@Peytral
wth i had a less than 3 after that word < 3
@Androdic
you can run the world with this laptop
@coolkams03
No its because you android trolls are pathetic and just accuse the editors of bias NON STOP 24/7.
And FYI the iPhone was WINNING in that little poll. It was like 40 something percent iPhone 4G to 30 something percent Evo 4G.
So stop with all the drama loser...Engadget doesn't owe you crap. And you don't control Engadget. Its their blog. They can post whatever they want. If you don't like it then DO NOT READ.
Its THAT simple.
@Androdic
Wow talk about 1984... Where is the iPHone VS Evo post? where Evo had mayority vote as the best phone eva and making iphone 4 obsolete? They took it down? sad!
@BrookLynnsFinest An explanation from the editors is not so hard. It was a great article.
@BrookLynnsFinest
Funny cause Evo was a sure winner in that Vote, We had enough Evo vote to go down three pages without seeing an iphone and apparently many of those votes were deleted... wow... this goes beyond the realm of fanboism.
@nickcraze What goes beyond fanboyism is that you're willing to sit there and contest the truth, cry about the thread being deleted, then troll other threads.
I'm no partisan when it comes to tech, I love great tech, but this bullshit that people are playing trolling out sites (yes, it's not just engadget) just to feign popularity in a device is just stupid. All it does is make real geeks like myself laugh and avoid platforms that attract trolls like this.
In essence, this kind of stupidity kills platforms, doesn't make them stronger.
@BrookLynnsFinest
wow, touched a nerve there did i?
@sortius
How am I trolling the thread? i am just saying... I found the post to be one of the best i've seen on engadget yet it appears that because Evo was being favored then it was removed, at least that's what it seems. I am not trolling, just giving my opinion on why it seem they removed it. The reason i did so is because the thread i had a voice in was removed. There was no reason to remove it since i believe that Paul did a great job reviewing it. I, like you love gadgets and everything tech and science. I hate it when i see others trash a platform for no reason at all. I believe the iphone is a great phone, but it's not the holy grail. The Evo demonstrated that by showing how good it is Vs. the iPhone. Once Again Evo Rules!
@coolkams03
here is a link for those who missed the poll

They need to price this to compete with the asus G73. if they do, I'm sold.
@dmbphan041
I ended up with an N61JQ, couldn't be happier..
Yeah it only has a 5730, but at 1366x768, the games stay fast and look crisp. Oh.. and it was under $1K with an i7 quad.
@hfm Where'd you get it under $1k? Promotion?
@FallenArms3
newegg and someone else had it for mid $900's for a while.. I see it's back up to 1079.. still a good deal.. :)
Why not GeForce GTX 480M?
Grrr...
@joebobjoe on a 16" plastic laptop?
It will melt before you can say "plays Crysis" :D
Yeah! Chicago Wins the Stanley Cup!!!!!
:D
@DoctarPeppar
Thank you, some real news!
What's the batt life on this while gaming?
That looks an awful lot like my Asus G60VX. Replace the blue lighting with red, and the Republic of Gamer logo with the MSI logo... vents are in the right place, and that hinge is identical, not to mention the silver metal around the trackpad, and location of some of the ports.
@mikeszekely
Was thinking the exact same thing. My friend has a G50, and the "caps" i=on the ends of the hinges are what struck me first. Then i looked at the lighting position and lid.
I wonder what's the battery life on this while on the go gaming?
Will probably melt from all that heat
It does look similar to the asus ones, but it also looks like it is slimmer then the asus. Although I don't know obviously you can't ever be sure with just looking off pictures.
It does 60 to 0 mAH in under 3 seconds.
I should of held off my asus republic of games core 2 quad to get one of these i7
Hawks win!!!
But can it run Crysis?
Looks very simuler to the Asus G71GX
Been Eyeing the M11x, this looks nice too.
Damn! That's one powerful laptop!
I still like my Envy 15 - prob half as thick, Aluminum/magnesium chassis, anti-glare 1920x1080 Full HD LCD, 5830 Gfx (when RAM is overclocked it is ~ equivalent to 8800GT) up to 3 hours battery
