Sony Dash is ready to travel the globe if you're ready to pay the import duties
International readers, your day has come: the Dash will finally work for you. Sony has lifted restrictions on the device that prevented it from being used outside the US of A, meaning you can wake up with that company's most advanced alarm clock ever regardless whether your bedding down in Belarus or shacking up in Shanghai. However, the company warns that "many providers automatically geo-filter their content so your experience with your Dash may vary depending on your location." And, this not-so-cuddly Chumby is still being sold exclusively in the States, so it's up to you to figure out how to import yours.

ill stick with my EVo, its doesn't everything this thing does and has a kickstand.

I don't think you realise it folds down.
I doubt you are that ignorant so ill just put it down to a troll attempt.

Don't waste your energy on him. He's managed to prove several times that he is incapable of rational thought. This is why he keeps making more accounts every time he's banned.
It is a pretty good alarm clok
Fail.

Fanboys like you fail.
@techee44 Actually, oh smart one, I'm getting a Dash. I am pointing out the whole "figure out how to import yours" concept to be a fail. Thanks.
@georgeangelo
The dash is actually pretty sick...but the one problem with it is that theres no battery, you HAVE to keep it plugged in or it doesn't work...
Wouldn't it be cool though if more companies would release devices like this..maybe even based on android? That would be awesome!
@georgeangelo
I think you meant to reply to Okok.
Why couldn't they have just put some cheap ass battery inside this thing that lasts for 3 or 4 hours? That would be oh so much better than keeping it tethered to the outlet 24\7.

What the hell are you talking about?
Designed to be on at all times?
It would not be very hard to program a "sleep" function into the OS when the device is not plugged into the outlet...every single phone on the planet has this functionality...it doesn't turn off _everything_...Why are you not banned from engadget yet? Seriously.

you have to calm down. people can have different opinions.
a battery would also be nice for power outages. my alarm clock saved me last year because it has a battery in it, the alarm went off and i wasnt late for work.
i agree with peppar on this one. especially if sony wants us to throw down this much cash.
does anyone actually post this abroad?
@ChairmanMeow I previously searched for this in Korea and I was a bit disappointed I couldn't find it. After that, I searched for it on ebay with international shipping with no luck. At least this explains part of the reason why, and would've saved me some disappointment, and perhaps I'll be able to find it in a month.
Hooray, finally!
Chumby is available in Australia as well...

Sam's Club has these in stock in some of their stores (saw a pile of them at my local one). $179.95...
