Hitachi 'Life Microscope' promises to track your every movement
Sure, there's plenty of devices like the Fitbit that can track your movement and report on your general level of activity or laziness, but only Hitachi has what it's dubbed a "Life Microscope." That name apparently comes from the fact that the device is able to track your activity with more detail than other fitness monitors -- including, it seems, the difference between sitting and sleeping, and even the difference between eating or playing video games. That data is then naturally able to be transferred to a PC, and it also sounds like the Life Microscope could be incorporated into actual watches as well -- if it ever moves beyond the concept stage, that is.

a good one for sposes to monitor each other..
@manho001
And with the help of todays advanced computing technology, now ANYONE can stalk someone!
Order yours today, and get a free GPS tracking device, so small you cant even see it*
*Only people with 1/1 vision will not see, anyone else will, some side affects may occur, you may die.
@manho001
I would be so down for one of those beauties if it came with a heartbeat monitor.
Will it be available as an iPhone app?
In that case, I want one.
@Siouxsie No, but it prints out money
Hitachi's Life Microscope: when stalking via Facebook and Twitter just isn't enough.
@Squalor
Little Brother?
Does it give achievement points too?
@BabyShaker that would be sick, via a retinal virtual HUD
Frickin' sweet!
Day by day Skynet feels less and less fiction.
Slightly less useful than Hitachi's "Magic Wand" massager.
@deecee
I'm fairly certain that vibe is made by another company...but it honestly wouldn't surprise meto find out it's the very same.
enemy of the state.
Does it have the WiFi's?
Can it tell the difference between push-ups and drillin' someone?
@tombstorm Nice!
@tombstorm I've always found that euphemism to be odd. It sounds either highly painful and involving power tools or it makes you sound like a physical trainer...
This is something I can confidently say I will never buy. Next step = eyePhone
The idea is not new. Except that this one is closer to reality.
Various sci-fi films have used it as a futuristic plot device, most often with the sensor going flat as the guy dies.
But why stop at hooking up to a PC? All the current data could flip to your PC, doctor, service, etc. in less than a millionth of a second, taking almost no data time.
When paired with a subcutaneous monitor it could give early warning for all sorts of chemicals, proteins, endocrine ops. A "white box" to track the state of your pate.
This is awesome bc I often have trouble telling the difference between whether I'm eating or playing a video game.
people people people.
THis isn't some GPS thing to track you, its to track your FITNESS. by monitoring your body, not your location. You people are a little to paranoid.
There'll come a time when this type of a device will be used
to determine the type and amount of healthcare you receive.
@sharkync I was going to say this device has real potential with healthcare.
In the future this could monitor the person's activities, health, and could perhaps warn people in advanced about what they are doing with themselves.
does it able to detect hand job?
This is just the beginning. Soon, these will be implanted in all insurgents.
Dear Hitachi, The DPRK would like to place an order for 24 million units to be delivered ASAP, COD of course.
Yours Truly,
Kim Jong Il
in that case expect it to track a LOT of fapping.
