AT&T deploying software fix for slow upload speeds over next few weeks
Looks like AT&T and Alcatel-Lucent have finally sorted out the software glitch that's resulted in slow HSPA upload speeds in certain markets -- we were just told on the record that a patch is being rolled out and the update will be completed over the next two to three weeks. That should mean iPhone 4 and laptop data modem customers should start to see their upload speeds creep back to higher levels after being capped at UMTS rates for the past few weeks, so that's good news -- let us know if things are getting better for you, yeah?

Cool! A speed bump(er). :D
@ChazClout
All's well in Central NJ - http://theurbangeek.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/iphone-upload-speed-e1279983982166.png
Anybody else notice how everything with the iPhone is "software" related?
@ChazClout lol, That upload speed and download speed is faster than mine at home. Probably because I live in a small village in Wisconsin... haha
@ChazClout Oh yeah! Full bars!
@ChazClout
Fuck AT&T and anyone who looks like AT&T
@crazitrain02 It a big conpirasee ta kill da pope
@ChazClout
A software fix is NOT going to fix this:

I think its fixed already... Yesterday my buddies and I did a 4 way race
Blackberry Bold AT&T/ iPhone 4/ Nexus one(tmo)/ HTC Evo
Download the Nexus topped everyone else and
upload AT&T iPhone bested my nexus with an upload speed of over 1700 Kbps.. while the nexus churned out 1300...
the evo was dead last but didnt even have 3g signal
@newjaruz
interesting...
@newjaruz Dang that's fast. Here's my 3GS speed in Seattle.
Download: 630 kbps
Upload: 56 kbps
Ping: 4478 ms
@fj2u
Yeah, both T-mobile and AT&T have nice speed increases because of HSPA+.... sometimes I download at rates higher than 5 mbps.
@newjaruz
At&t needs to catch up atm because tmobile is actually much faster in most areas. And considering an hspa+ phone is coming out with tmobile in the next couple months, they have some competition.
Did they really, Nilay?
Somboddy gonna get hurt reeel bad?
Damn, that HSPA down stream is nice. I only get that with EV-DO in certain areas. People can say what they want about ATTs 3G, but it's damn fast in certain cases.
Its a Trap!
@AdmAckbar Its a Tarp!
@Air2ground Its a Carp!
It's fixed here in Houston (West side, anyway)
@mcvaughan
west side, gangsta!!!!
Download speed: 3651.3 Kbits/s (Max: 3651.3 Kbits/s)

@rmbrown09 LOLOLOL
@rmbrown09 That's impressive.
@rmbrown09 That is over WiFi you idiot.
@rmbrown09 I don't get it... what's so impressive? That's my normal wifi speed. http://i.imgur.com/QzZcp.png
@rmbrown09 Yea...You're on wifi there, bud.
Still, I'd kill to have 8Mbps upload AND download. I only have 8 up and 1 down...
This would benefit me if it were download speeds cuz I don't really upload anything.
@alexr58
cool story, bro
@alexr58 Yeah nice shop.
@Psyclotr0n
True story.
oops that was meant to be @rmbrown09
@alexr58 wait till you can facetime over 3g
Software fix takes off the data speed cap.
Is this why YouTube loads super slow, or am I missing something?
@angelnilo06
This only effected upload speeds, not download.
So no, it has nothing to do with YouTube. Turn HQ off if you're on the mobile site? Other than that no idea why it'd be slow.
@jellotime91 Wow. Duhhh. I feel like sucha noob.
Ok well IF I turn off the HQ on the mobile site will that affect the actual app?
Thats cool. Maybe they should fix their Fiber while they are at it.
@Bhima
some Metamucil should take care of that
Dear AT&T, please continue improving your network
Sincerely, the millions of people waiting to jump ship to Verizon as soon as the iPhone goes to it.
Better fix that shit AT&T. My iPhone 4 has been going all kinds of sluggish on this 3G Microcell you gave me for free...
@TheZaccharaSyndicate This has nothing to do with the Microcells. If your JeebusPhone is sluggish on your Microcell, that's either a problem with YOUR internet connection or a problem with your phone. The Microcell patches your phone to AT&T's network through your internet connection. What internet service and speed package do you have?
I'm getting 2.5Mbps down and 1.1Mbps up on an AT&T Nexus One. The upload speeds were as slow as 0.1Mbps a few weeks ago.
Why several weeks to push out software? It's their network.... Oooh, THATS why. It's too slow to push the software out any faster. Right.
** HOW ABOUT FIXING THE DROPPED CALLS INSTEAD**
@Juggernaut408 what dropped calls?
@rmbrown09
yeah, what dro....
@iroq d mullet LOL
@iroq d mullet
