The Queue: Caturday

Welcome back to The Queue, WoW.com's daily Q&A column in which the WoW.com team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky, senior editor at WoW.com and webmaster of a new quick and dirty MMO news site, will be your host today.

Forget Saturdays. According to my cat today is the day that I spend playing with him and ignoring everything else. He has therefore commanded me to post the internet lolcat meme of caturday.

Jeff asked:

"Has there been any talk about updating the old racials to put them more in line with the Goblin / Worgen ones?"

Yup, but we haven't seen any new iterations of the old racials come through yet. They could go in at any time, and they're not really high on the priority list I'm sure. The super big secret is that they don't really matter that much and only provide a slight advantage in very specific situational encounters. I'd much rather see the retribution paladin tree get another pass than for there to be three pages of blue posts on racials. I'm pretty sure I'm not alone here either.

I don't mean to undermine the coolness that new racials would bring, but just to put them in perspective with wider, overall changes.

VioletAarows asked:

"Just wondering: Say you roll a hunter before Cataclysm, then abandon it before level 10 (thus he has no pet). Once updated, are all these lowbie hunters now going to spontaneously have pets?"

Yes.

Drew asked:

"If dungeons are going to be playable on discovery only, does that mean Ragefire Chasm and Stormwind stockades are going to be represented faction only? "

Only Cataclysm level 80 to 85 dungeons will need to be discovered. Older ones will not be. It's possible that Outlands and Northrend dungeons will need to be discovered too, but I don't believe that's the case at the moment. However level 15 Deadmines will never need to be discovered to queue for it in the random dungeon finder.

Msac asked:

"Why is everyone okay with things being broken or half-done in beta?"

/facepalm
