Video from Sony's NGP panel: Uncharted Portable, Little Deviants, and augmented dino-reality

In order to show developers precisely what NGP is capable of – and to break up the fifty plus slides used in the one hour presentation! – Sony shared three live demos of NGP software and we dutifully recorded them.

Apologies for the poor quality of the NGP screen – the combination of the bright OLED screen being captured on video, piped to a conference center projector, and then in turn captured by our camera has resulted in some ... less than stellar video quality. But you will be able to glean the input mechanics and the style of gameplay (or in the case of the augmented reality demo, dinosaurplay). Check out videos of Little Deviants, Uncharted Portable, and augmented reality after the break.

Little Deviants: Sony invited Justin Cook, Senior Designer at Bigbig Studios, to show off its NGP game Little Deviants. Deviants incorporates a handful of NGP input mechanics, including physical controls, front touchscreen, and that wild rear touchscreen.

Augmented Reality: For the augmented reality demo, Sony broke out Tsutomu Horikawa from SCEI's Software Solution Development Department. In this case, Horikawa provided a solution for "Where do I store my giant, invisible dinosaur?" Why, in your NGP of course!

Uncharted Portable: Frank Simon is Senior Staff Producer at Sony Worldwide Studios' Foster City Studio, and he was showing off Sony Bend's as-yet-unnamed Uncharted Portable. Our favorite part: The gyroscopic "camera" that Drake can bust out to take pictures for his journal. How emo!
