The Classifieds: A bit of song, a bit of filk

The Classifieds brings you weekly news from around the WoW community, including our famous Random Acts of Uberness shout-outs to players who make your WoW sessions memorable.

Machinima and WoW filk is tricky business. Not everyone has the gumption to get up in front of the infinite masses of YouTube and show off some talent. Aily, however, has that courage. The video above is a cute performance dedicated to one of Aily's friends. Something about this little song won my heart and made me go, "Awww." C'mon, Blizzard, let's get her some pigtails already.

In only slightly related news, check out the trailer for To The Moon, which includes music from Laura Shigihara, the voice of the Singing Sunflower. This is what Laura has to say about it:

Work and side projects have been keeping me pretty busy lately! My favorite project right now is my friend's indie game To the Moon... I've been helping him out with some music for it, so that's been fun. It's a reverse chronological adventure game about a pair of scientist who traverse the memories of an old dying man in order to fulfill his greatest wish.

It's when another player lights up your night with precise play, a wicked sense of humor or unexpected generosity that your login becomes something to remember. Share your Random Acts of Uberness with theclassifieds@wowinsider.com. Keep things brief (150 words or less, please), and be sure to list everyone's character names and home realms or battlegroup. Don't be afraid of sending an entry more than once if it doesn't appear; sometimes internet dragons eat email, and we'd hate to let that keep deserving players from getting their due.

Gheegle of Kirin Tor (US-H) My boyfriend was trying to get his level 50 class quest done on his druid, and every PUG he joined was unwilling to kill the boss he needed. Awesome shadow priest Gheegle of (Kirin Tor US-H) was kind enough to stay around and help him kill Pyromancer Loregrain. I brought in my level 54 shammy, and together we three-manned the Domicile, killed Loregrain, and got the quest done (having a blast while doing it, too). So Gheegle, if you're reading this, thanks again from Roundtip and Moxee (Malygos US-H)! -- Roundtip and Moxee, Malygos US-H

  • A new pacifist blog seeks to level and do no harm along the way.

  • We talked a few weeks ago about a mom who was discouraged by the rampant hate speech in game. We just wanted to let you know she's found a good guild for a new home, and the family is doing well.

Employment: Guilds recruiting

Defense Against the Dark Arts Perhaps surprisingly, I don't see a lot of Harry Potter references around here. Redeemed has a solid raiding history... We have been together for just over 2 years and cleared Ulduar to Starcaller and drakes, ICC (incl. HMs and most achieves), BWD, and BoT. That said, it should be noted that we are comprised of adults with real lives, so while we take our raiding seriously, we also try to be understanding towards the needs of people outside the game. Due to this nature, and the fact that Healer is the Defense Against the Dark Arts position of my guild, we currently stand at 1/7 reg in FL, which I realise is likely unattractive to the majority of people who will be checking this out and that's fine. To each his own. However, for those of you out there who are looking for a foot in the door, or a less breakneck pace and want to hang with a really awesome group of people, who have a ridiculously good time with one another and can laugh through a night of wipes just as easily as an evening of successes, then I'd suggest giving us a looksee

Elder Gods raid too Sounds like a fun raid guild on Moon Guard. R'lyeh Awakened (US-Moon Guard) is a Horde 10man raiding guild that has been around since mid-WotLK. We are one of those tight-knit guilds of friends who push through raid content at our own pace, currently 5/7 Firelands normal mode. We are looking for a Elemental Shaman (preferred) or Boomkin/Spriest to complete our core team. Players interested in 5-man content, as well as just a social guild would be accepted with open arms as well. There are opportunities to participate in alt runs, fill in core spots or join partial PUGS with guildmates too. Our raid times are Saturday (7-11) and Sunday (7-10) CST. Also, we do have roleplayers but don't rp as a guild. For more information feel free to pst Parae in game, /who R'lyeh or contact us via our forum post here: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/forum/topic/2721384365

Hope Springs Eternals just need a few more good folks. We're a friendly progression guild on US-Lightning's Blade (Horde) with a relatively light 10-man raid schedule, but we're intent on making the best possible use of our time. Currently 6/7 normals, actively working on Ragnaros. Raid times are Tuesday and Wednesday from 8 pm to Midnight, invites at 7:45, and Sunday from 9 to midnight, invites at 8:45. Willing to help with gear and teach fights. pst Gunparade or Chetok in-game to apply. Currently seeking a Resto Shaman who will be on time and ready to raid.
