The Classifieds: Calling all game scholars

The librarian guild Where is the library on Saurfang (US-A) is doing something unique and interesting. On Nov. 17, they will meet in the Ironforge library to talk about cognition and learning in MMOs. Check out what they have to say about it:
18 November 9.00am (Australian Eastern Summer time) Crystle Martin will be talking about cognition and learning in MMOs and the constellation of information that surround them, focusing on topics of literacy including information literacy. She is the lead project assistant for the PopCosmo research group led by Constance Steinkuehler and a member of Games+Learning+Society.

Mazzmos of Sargeras (US-A) I'd like to give a shout to Mazzmos on Sargeras. I'm a fairly geared tank that has just joined a guild that is still building it's raid team. I've been queueing for regular dungeons with them until they got enough gear to do heroics. Our resident priest healer finally got up over the requirement and we, along with 2 dps from our guild queued for the priest's first heroic. We pugged in Mazzmos a charming little gnome warlock. I announced quickly that it was the priest's first heroic so we were planning on taking our time and using a little CC. I was a little nervous about the reaction we'd get since frequently folks want to queue and be done. Not only was I pleasantly surprised that he was totally fine with it, but apparently his 'main' is a hunter so he was able to help our hunters with some tips as well! /Salute and hats off for Mazzmos for renewing my faith in our community of players. Paramilitary roleplayIt's always nice to see RP guilds recruiting. The Red Thistle Militia is a paramilitary organization with a focus on combating the Forsaken threat and returning the Highlands of Arathor to human (or at least, Alliance) control. Unlike an official military cordon, however, they operate in a "lighter shade of gray," utilizing unconventional small-scale tactics to produce an optimal result and often rely on equally unconventional personnel to achieve their goals. Outside of roleplay, we love running dungeons, retro raiding, and are always more than willing to help out our guildmates.
