A Day That Comes But Once A Yarrr
Some years ago, Mark "Cap'n Slappy" Summers and John "Ol' Chumbucket" Baur (the co-authors of the book Pirattitude) figured that being a pirate was such a fine thing that it should be celebrated. Their associate Dread Captain DeMeza thought that a capital idea, and Pirates' Day was born.

On one day only, September 19, you too can celebrate Pirates' Day. Rumor has it that Dread Captain DeMeza herself will invade Booty Bay, bringing corsairs and cannons to fire on approaching vessels. Keep an eye out for First Mate Hapana, and expect to see commoners in pirate garb in capital cities. Ask them to help you dress like a pirate, and join in the fun.

Dread Captain DeMeza has been known to share a drink with an adventurer or two; if you have the guts, perhaps she'll raise a mug with you and make you an honorary crew member. Now that's an achievement!
