Assassin's Creed: Revelations for PC sneaks out early

Assassin's Creed: Revelations for PC has broken free from its sequestered state and is available now for your stabby pleasure. Before the sudden US release, the official word from Ubisoft indicated the game was being held in an undisclosed location until sometime in December, following the console launch all the way back on November 15. It should be available through Steam on Dec. 1 if you're outside the US.

For PC users concerned about Ubisoft's DRM: Revelations does not feature the company's "always-on" piracy protection. And for those keeping track, this latest PC launch stagger lasted 14 days.

UBISOFT® ANNOUNCES
ASSASSIN'S CREED® REVELATIONS IS NOW AVAILABLE ON PC

SAN FRANCISCO - November 29, 2011 - Today, Ubisoft® announced that the highly anticipated Assassin's Creed® Revelations is now available at retail in the United States for PC. Assassin's Creed Revelations marks the peak of the epic journey of master assassin Ezio Auditore in the age-old war between Assassins and Templars. Assassin's Creed Revelations is an action-adventure game that blends thrilling combat, stunning hyperrealistic graphics and a gripping tale of intrigue and self-discovery.

Developed and led by Ubisoft Montreal with the support and expertise of Ubisoft's Annecy, Massive Entertainment, Quebec, Singapore and Bucharest studios, Assassin's Creed Revelations presents the most immersive experience available in the series to date, and the culmination of Ezio's adventure.

In Assassin's Creed Revelations, master assassin Ezio Auditore walks in the footsteps of the legendary assassin Altair on a journey of revelation. It is a perilous path – one that will take Ezio to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, where a growing army of Templars threatens to destabilize the region.

In addition to Ezio's award-winning story, the acclaimed online multiplayer experience returns, refined and expanded, with more modes, more maps and more characters that allow players to test their assassin skills against others from around the world.

Also releasing today, Assassin's Creed Embers™, a new computer-generated animated short movie, will expand on the final chapter of the life of master assassin Ezio Auditore and a journey that has spanned more than four decades.
