The Queue: Pet battles, Caverns of Time, and the quest log

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.

I have no idea what's being said in this song, but it sure sounds neat.

evoxpisces asked:

I was fooling around with the pet battles system in beta on a character I copied over. Then I made a new monk and was able to use pet battles right from the start.... does that mean that we only have to pay the fee once? And that pet battles are universal as opposed to specific to each character? All the pets I have are the exact same pets across all characters, and not different versions of the same pets?

Pet battles are an account-wide activity. It doesn't matter one bit which character you're logged into while you're battling. You pay the entrance fee for your entire account all at once. All of your pets, including newly caught pets, are shared across your entire account. You don't need to level each pet on each character, only once per account.

blacksword asked:

Has there been any update on the updated character models for the vanilla and BC races? Last I heard was months ago that "Yep, Dwarves almost done" I realize they probably wont be in at launch but do they have an ETA at all? Also with the updated models will we be seeing some texture updates for some of the older gear? even now its looking a bit... bad

I can say up front that I'm almost certain they will not be updating old armor sets -- not unless they decide to reuse those tiers in future raids, which might honestly be sort of neat. I wouldn't mind revisiting tier 2 in the Caverns of Time, for example.

As for character models, there's no ETA. Character models seems to be one of those things they work in between other tasks rather than putting any significant focus on it, as far as we know. I wouldn't expect them at any point in Mists of Pandaria unless Blizzard seriously surprises us -- and they might. They have done so in the past.

ericw asked:

Is there a way to get back to the Wandering Isle after you leave it, or is it just like Kezan, once we leave we never return?

It's like Kezan. Once you leave, the Isle does its wandering thing, and there is no going back.

cgilm2526 asked:

Has there been any signs that we will get another COT instance?

Not at the launch of the expansion, but I wouldn't be surprised if we see at least one Caverns of Time dungeon in Mists of Pandaria's life cycle. The Caverns of Time is something the developers like to visit on a fairly regular basis.

niklas asked:

I've seen the removal of the Daily quest limit discussed on more than a few occasions, but nowhere have I seen any confirmation that we can have more than 25 quests active at any given time. Can we accept all 48 dailys at once, or do we have to do 23-25 of them first and then go and do the rest of them? (assuming ofc that one would go and do all 48 in one single day)

Your quest log still only allows a maximum of 25 active quests at a time. So while you can do more than 25 daily quests per day, you can only pick up 25 of them at once. There wouldn't be any real need to pick up every single quest at one time, since they're not all in one place. You would want to take the quest hubs one at a time.
