The Queue: That one drop

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.

I just wanted to mention in The Queue today that one drop. It's that one thing that you can never get, no matter how many times you run the instance. This weekend, a buddy of mine and I decided to run a couple of dozen heroics in order to get the last bit of gear needed to tank and heal in the Raid Finder like pros.

Of course, his healing shield and my tanking shield never drop -- that is, until the very last run of the weekend.

I love how the game plays with your mind like that. Twitch.

Stabaa asked:

Is the release date for Christie Golden's tides of war still July 24th as reported back in January? Could this date if true be a hint at the imminent release of MoP soon after just like cata and the shattering novel?

Right now, it's listed as Aug. 28 in Amazon. But I wouldn't put much weight in its being at all related to the way Mists is going to play out. Remember that Blizzard has said Mists is going to be telling a greater story than other expansions have, that we're going to have campaigns here. This book could very well be part of the later story in Mists.

Jamie asked:

I got my Force Reactive Disk from Molten Core the other night. How do I deal with getting one of the first items I fell in love with back when I started WoW in 2007?

That's how I feel about the Drillborer Disk. I still remember when I got it back in 2005, I exclaimed on Vent, "Oh my God, sweet! I always wanted this!" I still have the original sitting around in my bank for good measure, although it's not as great as Bulwark of Azzinoth. Nothing is better than that.

Alchimist asked:

Will people that didn't set up their beta profile setting, but still signed up for the annual pass, get a beta invite?

Yes, you do not need ot have a beta profile in order to get the beta invite in the Annual Pass. It says so in the FAQ.

Rob asked:

What's the count on beta invites so far? I think it might be 300,000.

There were a total of 300,000 sent out last week, and then how ever many got in with the initial wave (probably very, very small). I wouldn't be surprised to see another 300,000 this week.

Margepus aksed:

I have two world of warcraft accounts on my battle.net account. One account I actively play, and one I have not touched since Wotlk's release. Can my buddy scroll of resurrect my inactive account even though it is attached to a battle.net account with an active WoW?

Yes, the Scroll of Resurrection depends on the WoW license, not the Battle.net account.
