The Queue Release date's acomin'

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.

I started playing Mount & Blade: Warband over the weekend. I've been playing it for an unhealthy number of hours. Despite that, after the entire weekend has come and gone, I'm still not sure I know what the heck I'm doing in that game. Where's my Mount & Blade Insider to tell how I play this!?

midnightlurker asked:

It seems likely that MoP's release date will be announced before next BlizzCon... so is there any upcoming event that would make a good time to announce the date?

It will be some event that you would call ... Soon.

In all seriousness, I don't know of any events coming up that would make sense for a release date. Blizzard usually doesn't plan its release date announcements around anything known to us on the outside. I have a feeling it's really soon, though. I expect to see it before the end of the month, if not much sooner.

Here's hoping I'm not wrong!

Lugtonex asked:

Whats the deal with first aid ?? why do I feel like it is forgotten profession?

Well, what do you want first aid to do? It's for making bandages, and it certainly does make bandages! I suppose Blizzard could add a lot more group utility stuff to it, but for what purpose, really? If you gave the profession a way to provide real, actual healing in combat, then you need to start balancing healers (and raid encounters) around its existence.

Blizzard could do that, but I think the devs are content with its just making bandages for questing or whatever.

Moodpie asked:

I've been trying to finish off my scribe's glyph list and I'm down to the ones that can only be learned from the books of glyph mastery. I recall some time ago blizzard saying they were going make those learnable through research, has there been any update on that? Having no practical way to learn those is rather frustrating.

No update. I agree with you, it's pretty frustrating! Blizz has mentioned solutions to this a couple of different times, but none of those solutions ever came about. I'm honestly not sure if anything cropped up with these in the Mists of Pandaria beta, but I don't think so? If one of our readers knows better, say so in the comments!

ZacharyBrandon asked:

I tend to think of game mechanics on a regular basis, so here is a question: if you could add in a mini-game/questing experience from any OTHER genre of gaming, what would it be and why?

After seeing Diablo recreated in StarCraft II using World of Warcraft assets as the 3D models, I really want to see Blizzard put a real-time strategy minigame into WoW. Play Warcraft 3 inside of World of Warcraft? Hell, yeah.

nikobrown asked:

as I've been playing d3 for the last week I have been thinking about playing a monk in prep for mop, is their any parity there?

Not really? They're similar in that they both punch and kick things, but the mechanics are generally pretty different. Anything you learn playing a monk is not going to carry over into World of Warcraft.
