Penny Arcade's game with a big title will come to these tiny devices

Penny Arcade's game with a huge title will come to these tiny devices

Some time after its PC and XBLIG launch on June 25, Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 will slip-and-slide onto the following mobile platforms: iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android. On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 will also come to Mac, through Steam, on the same day as the mobile launches, Penny Arcade announced today.

We knew Zeboyd's pixel-fest in the Penny Arcade universe would hit mobile platforms, but until now we weren't sure which devices would be supported. There is still no word on a specific release date for mobile and Mac versions, but Penny Arcade promises it will be "soon" after next week's Steam (PC) and XBLIG launch.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

June 19, 2012 Seattle, WA – Moving up the date by more than two weeks, Penny Arcade has announced June 25 as the premiere for "On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3". The title, which chronicles the saga of Apocalyptics scholar Tycho Brahe and his volatile, probably entirely human partner Jonathan Gabriel has also just posted a sumptuous launch trailer at www.rainslickgame.com!

"On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3" is planned for initial release on Steam, and Xbox timing contingent on the final Peer Review and release process at the Indie Games channel. It will then be available soon thereafter for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android and Mac.

As "On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3" begins, The Startling Developments Detective Agency springs into action prompted by a call from a mysterious source. The ever escalating perils on the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness that follow will harrow players with our proprietary HauntMax haunting technology. A cunning evil Doctor, a series of Unexplainable Thefts, a Mysterious Book of Power, Enigmatic Supernatural Forces, Hobo bosses, the occasional Robot, and more await.

Penny Arcade has paired up with Zeboyd Games, the creators of "Cthulhu Saves the World" and "Breath of Death VII: The Beginning," to resuscitate the franchise. Players will step onto an all new Precipice in the third installment, one which delivers old school aesthetics with updated battles and a signature, bizarre tone. The collaboration is absolute, and the result is absolutely unique.

"We chose the right partner," said Holkins, when asked if Zeboyd was a good partner or not. "I would choose them again. And I did, because we still have another one of these to do."

"On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3" is priced at $4.99 (400 Microsoft Points, or "magicoins," for the Xbox Live Indie Games version). All who purchase the PC version at Steam during the first week of availability will get a free bonus game with their order: the almost equally unnerving and skewed "Cthulhu Saves the World".
