The Queue: Let's do the Mario

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.

One day, I'd like to write a post-apocalyptic short story wherein the only thing that has appeared on broadcast television for 100 years is The Super Mario Bros. Super Show.

Is it a terrible idea? Yes. But that's the point.

john14 asked:

Is there a list somewhere of the items seen on the BMAH? I'm very curious to see what all is going to be listed on it.

Talking about the Black Market Auction House right now is difficult. It's a feature that's still very much in flux. It's hard to tell whether the items on sale right now will be the ones on sale when the game launches, because each individual listing is fairly rare and the developers continue to tweak which items will be sold at all.

Right now, the items causing the most kerfluffle are the original tier 3 from 40-man Naxxramas back in vanilla WoW and some of the really rare mounts such as the Ashes of Al'ar. Some level-appropriate gear will be appearing on the Black Market Auction House for level 90 players as well, but those are heavily restricted -- see Zarhym's comments on the feature from last night.

jkramer470 asked:

Has there been any sign of the hemet nesingwary quest line in pandaria?

Yes! His camp is in the Valley of the Four Winds this expansion. It's a father and son outing this time around.

@USoddity asked:

question is why Pandas? I mean The Lich King, Deathwing, then Kung Fu Pandas WTF????? are we all 12

Yes. You figured it out. You solved the puzzle. We are all 12.

kgrove2984 asked:

Since MOP Beta is getting more and more stable and you are starting to publish mini-guides for the monk case, I was wonder, is someone on the staff going to take up writing for all the classes specs? If not where can we submit stuff if we'd like to write for wowinsider?

Chase Hasbrouck will be writing the bulk of our monk guides. A few other staffers have voiced in interest in contributing to that as well, so you may see things others a little further down the road. We aren't hiring anybody new for monk class coverage.

@Azrielenish asked:

Pancakes or waffles?

While I like me some pancakes, I feel waffles are superior as a food item. Waffles can be served with sweet toppings or savory toppings. Serving waffles with items such as fried chicken turns the waffles into a legitimate dinner, whereas pancakes for dinner is you just being weird and eating breakfast at night. It's like, duct tape or Scotch tape? Scotch tape does its job well, but duct tape can manage that job and many more. I'd rather have the duct tape around than the Scotch tape, if I had to choose just one.

Don't eat duct tape, kids. It's bad for you.

JaredFisher asked:

What do you think about having a henchman system in WoW? I liked it in the original Guild Wars, and it seemed perfected in Skyrim. So have it like the latter, where you could say, with the new Friendship rep. system, have them say "Hey, talk to me and I'll follow you around while you quest and help you out for a little bit". Maybe even have different people do different things.

I really enjoy companion systems like that in other games. In fact, having an NPC partner with me all of the time was one of the things I really enjoyed about The Old Republic. My Jedi Knight and Kira Carsen were butt-kickin' pals. Having an NPC with you that actually interacts with you makes questing at 1 a.m. feel a lot less lonely.

That being said, I think it's way too late in World of Warcraft's lifetime to implement a full sidekick/companion system like that. WoW has established pet classes: hunters, warlocks, so on. Going back and letting everybody have a full-time NPC buddy would make things really strange.

johncford asked:

Will anyone be taking over the Reader UI of the Week and AddOn Spotlight columns?

Olivia Grace and Dan Desmond have both mentioned an interest in taking over AddOn Spotlight, and we're still talking that over internally. Reader UI of the Week is on hiatus at least until Mists of Pandaria launches, so people have a chance to mess around with Mists' new UI elements in their submissions.

@natokelly asked:

As my guilds raid leader and main tank, should I be getting my butt into the beta to learn the new content?

That depends on how serious your guild is about progression. If your guild is fairly casual and isn't concerned about burning through content as fast as possible, nah. Don't worry about it. If your guild has aspirations of server firsts ... yeah. Get on the beta and get some practice in.
