Dance Central 3's 'Dance Off' features prizes and awkward hustles

Harmonix is kicking the Dance Central 3 beat up with with its 'Dance Off' competition, which sees players get all jets-and-sharks to see who's the best groover on the Internet. Or, based on what we've seen , who has the least awkward hustle. Not that we can talk or more pertinently dance but so far, people, it's not been pretty.

Anyway, here's how it works. Entrants upload 30 second videos of themselves busting killer moves to one of three songs, 15 seconds choreographed and 15 seconds freeeeeestyle. With the routine now uploaded, it's pitted against other dancers' routines in one-on-one battles, with the watching user choosing a winner in each dance-off they watch. The more 'battle wins' dancers rack up, the higher they lock step up the leaderboards. There are prizes up for grabs too, with first place nabbing a custom Dance Central 3 Xbox 360 and a copy of the game, both signed by Usher.

Dance Central 3 is available now in North America, shaking a four-star booty in our review. Fortunately, we've not seen entrants sharing our reviewer's penchant for "no pants dance."
