WRUP: Our eternal devotion to Secret Santa

WRUP Our eternal devotion to Secret Santa

Welcome back to WRUP, where we tell you what we're playing this weekend... and we ask you the same! This week's bonus question welcomes the gift giving season without the Black Friday materialism. We asked our staff to pick their Secret Santa recipient and tell us what they'd get for them.

As a bonus to the bonus, Ms. Poisso totally chose my daughter, therefore winning my eternal love and devotion. Besides, look at those cheeks. Look at them! It's a minute-by-minute fight not to be constantly pinching them. So I'm thankful to Lisa for an excuse to use an image of my daughter for the header.

Anne Stickney (@Shadesogrey) Likely this weekend will be spent soloing old dungeons for mounts, and fiddling around in general -- I'm not sure if my guild is raiding on Sunday or not, but if they are, I'll be doing that, too. I've also been feeling the urge to pick up Skyrim again and check out the let's-build-houses DLC. Bonus question: Li Li Stormstout. I'd make her a wormhole generator so she could get around the world and explore more easily. Hopefully without the nasty side effects, but you know Azeroth technology ...

Allison Robert (@AllisonRobert) We're not raiding this week due to the holiday, so I'll likely be spending time trying to make my shaman alt into a productive (or at least semi-productive) citizen. Also, dailies. Death, taxes, and dailies.

Chase Hasbrouck (@alarondruid, @alaronmonk) After a few weeks away, I'm dipping my toes back in. Since I'm not raiding, the gear grind is pretty irrelevant, so I've started playing pet battles and scenarios for most of my time. I'm also playing a lot of Borderlands 2 (just got it), so that's been satisfying my loot needs.

Dan Desmond (@Antigen_) Well, I've been enjoying leveling my shadow priest lately, especially when Glyph of Mind Blast kicks in and I can actually prevent the monsters from clawing at my bubble. Unfortunately for her, though, there's a Steam sale going on right now and XCOM is like 33% off, so... yeah, probably that.

My Azerothian Secret Santa is Garrosh Hellscream. I think I'll be getting him some new slacks.

Daniel Whitcomb (@danielwhitcomb) I'll be running Raid Finder to try to get the last few sigils I need for my legendary gem. My Warlock's 90 now too, so I'm hoping to start Golden Lotus dailies to get those enchanting and tailoring patterns, and maybe even run enough heroics to get her into Mogu'shan Vaults. Finally, I'll be hopping on my Turian Sentinel in Mass Effect Multiplayer to complete Operation Privateer.

My Secret Santa victim is Lieutenant General Andorov, and I will be getting him a set of combs. One for his luxurious chest hair, and one for his glorious facial hair.

Dawn Moore (@dawnwow) I want to play League of Legends this weekend if I can, but I'd also really like to see Lincoln. One way or another, I'm raiding on Sunday. Bonus question: I haven't participated in Secret Santa since I was 17. I'll probably put together some WoW gifts for the beloved boy and a few guildies, though. I really wish you could wrap grey items.

Lisa Poisso (@lisapoisso) WRUP? Dirt! I've decided I miss my Horde RP-PvP priest like wildfire, so despite having no money at all on that realm anymore after transferring away many moons ago, I'm back. The issue: My priest there was only 81, and I hate Cataclysm leveling with a passion. The solution: I can easily ding 85 solely on herbalism and archaeology, then gallop over to Halfhill and buy a full set of greens to get me on my merry way! So I'll be spending Thanksgiving digging in the dirt -- picking herbs and digging up junk to get to 85 (I hit 83 last night, woo!), and digging up the dirt on my new farm in just a few more levels. Bonus question: My Secret Santa is outside Azeroth -- Mike Gray's daughter -- but she needs a gift from within Azeroth: a murloc hat.

Matt Walsh (@Rhidach) I'm a state away spending the holiday with my in-laws, so not much right. Hopefully I can get some Borderlands 2 time in when I get home on Sunday.

My secret santa is Nozdormu, though I don't know why I bother, I'll never be able to surprise him.

Megan O'Neill (@slowpoker) I've already gotten my two druids to 90, so now it's the shockadin's turn. I'm celebrating Thanksgiving a week late, so this weekend will probably be spent goofing off in soloing some Wrath raids on various toons when it's not the shockadin's turn. When I feel like getting serious, I need to check out the Terrace of Endless Springs LFR and run Heart of Fear's LFR some more. My Azeroth Secret Santa is Ken-Ken, and I've saved him a Hallow's End murloc mask for a gift.

Michael Gray (@writegray) I'll be driving home after visiting family for the holidays. And Lisa totally stole mine, so...

Olivia Grace (@oliviadgrace) All the talk of Claptrap on twitter has made me want to play Borderlands 2 again, and maybe get the no-longer-new mechanist download. So perhaps a bit of that! Raiding again on Sunday, our schedule is currently a super-casual one day a week for that so we're not progressing at any speed, but it's fun nonetheless. I'm not sure if I made the right choice to go with healing rather than tanking... Other than that, I'll be sleeping most of Saturday, thanks to a certain videocast I do being pushed to Friday, and then I'll probably level my priest some more. Discipline is awesome! I don't really understand all the complaints about it, but then I'm not max level.

The weekend is the perfect time to kick back, relax and enjoy some game time. Are you an achievement junkie? Can't get enough raiding? Rolling a new alt? Considering taking the leap into roleplaying? Whatever your favorite way to play World of Warcraft, let us know in the comments what you're playing this weekend!
