WRUP: 2012 VGAs in two hours

Samuel L Jackson teaser for VGAS mini

The annual Spike Video Game Awards begin in two hours. Whatever you may think about the validity of the awards, it's usually a solid two hours of trailer reveals. Also, if we gotta give up our Friday night to watch, the least you can do is commiserate with us as we liveblog the show.

What's everyone playing?

  • Alexander Sliwinski (@Sliwinski): Helping the "Rich Kids of Instagram" escape their island bondage in Far Cry 3.

  • David Hinkle (@DaveHinkle): I'm almost done with Max Payne 3, so I'll probably wrap up that this weekend and move on to XCOM or maybe Darksiders 2. Also, very much looking forward to the VGAs this evening, if only to see the sweet live interviews from the Doritos Mountain Dew Halo 4 XP Interview Chamber Brought to you by Zappos.com and TJ Maxx.

  • JC Fletcher (@jcfletcher): I'll be working on my review of DJ Max Technika Tune. I don't think it's too much of a tease to say it's definitely the best touchscreen Kpop rhythm game I've ever played on my Vita.

  • Jess Conditt (@JessConditt): [...]

  • Jordan Mallory (@Jordan_Mallory): Diving way, way back into Mass Effect for PS3 to see how it holds up. Perhaps this time my Shepard won't have such a ... uniquely proportioned face. Also going to be constructing my Steam Box, Lord willin' and the creek don't rise.

  • Ludwig Kietzmann (@LudwigK): I'm still in Africa for a quick visit, so I'm relying on Super Mario 3D Land and When Vikings Attack! to keep me occupied outside of work and catching up with the locals.

  • Mike Schramm (@MikeSchramm): After playing most of Revengeance this past week, my interest in Metal Gear has been re-piqued, so I'm going give Peace Walker a try this weekend.

  • Mike Suszek (@MikeSuszek): I'm playing with my new video capture device and playing more of The Walking Dead, as well as checking out Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance. What a weird combo.

  • Richard Mitchell (@TheRichardM): [...]

  • Sinan Kubba (@Shoinan): I'm spanning 14 years of gaming this weekend, with Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition and Gravity Rush.

  • Steven Wong: [...]

  • Xav de Matos (@Xav): I'll be replaying my memories of playing the first few hours of BioShock Infinite. It was pretty great.
