The Queue I need a drink, tell me what

Welcome back to The Queue, the daily Q&A column in which the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky (@adamholisky) will be your host today.

In game and out of game, I need a drink. Tell me what it should be, and I'll have one for me, and one for you.

Personally my preference is a darker beer, although I've enjoyed a Corona now and then as well.

Chise asked:

Forcing PvP on someone is a lot different than forcing PvE on them. Do you think it is unfair to include PvP in achievements like the "With a Little Helper from My Friends" quest that is part of the Winter Veil and eventually What a Strange Trip it's Been metas?

First, I disagree with your original statement. I don't think anyone is forcing you to do achievements. I know this is an often used line by Blizzard, but they really are optional. There's not a necessary reward at all in them, and they provide only direction (in my opinion) as to what fun things there are to do in game. The reward itself is not the achievement, but the journey to the achievement.

Secondly, I don't think it's inappropriate within that context to 'force' PvP. Yes, some of the specific achievements are more than a little nuts, but hey ... that's okay. If they were so easy that everyone could do it, they wouldn't be special. I still don't have the necessary achievements from Childrens' Week. I might never get them, and I'm okay with that.

The primary reason why it's okay to force PvP is that it's always been part of the game, and like I said above, achievements are just a guide to exploring the entire game. PvP used to be a much larger part of what WoW was about -- in classic WoW server wide AVs were a huge part of endgame. Now you can have an entire endgame without PvP; which is okay too, but don't be surprised when Blizzard says 'if you want this achievement, you need to go PvP' -- because they remember how awesome it can be, and they want to bring some of that awesomeness to you.

Ghram asked:

I understand this has probably been asked many times but would love to know some peoples opinions. I'm currently on a non-RP server. I'm interested in starting a new toon on a RP-Server with a good RP population. I will probably roll horde. Just wondering if anyone can recommend a sever, and also a good guild for RP. Also does the WoWinsder community have any sort of guild? Thanks in advance.

Smartass answer: Moon Guard -- Great guilds in Goldshire. Check 'em out! Just don't take out your sword.

Real answer: Moon Guard -- Check out the forums for guilds that'll fit you. Don't ever go into Goldshire, no matter what you do.

WoW Insider doesn't have a RP guild.

Loli asked:

Quick question do you have to be apart of the group that tags an opposite leader in order to get the kill? Just curious as we were talking about that in guild tonight.

In my experience yes, you do. When I've done opposite faction raids, it's very clear that everyone needs to be in the group, grouped up, and hit the boss with some damage spell right away. There's very little room for error in these cases, for some reason.
