One Shots: Friendship is magic
Oh pretty ponies, is there anything you can't do? Any wisdom that you haven't already mastered? Any look that isn't absolutely stunning? Any swish of your tail that doesn't grant wishes? I think not!
I'm sure that reader Michelle agrees with me, since she sent in this picture of her little pony from Star Stable. "It's April Fool's Day," she writes, "and this is my character Lili Wolfwood and her horse Everdream after having clicked on an NPC Bunny. My horse is usually brown and black."
Why do I keep forgetting that there's an entire MMO about horses? Why haven't I done an extensive six-week article series on it yet? While I deal with the shame of neglect, you may proceed on to our other excellent player-submitted screenshots.
Sometimes it's not about where you go or what you encounter; it's about what you own. Reader and captain Zyrusticae took untold pleasure from looking at his acquisition in EVE Online: "This is just from me taking shots of my favorite mission ship, the Kronos. It's quite a beautiful ship, and the lighting in the revised hangar does a great job of accentuating its lovely curves."
If you change just a couple of those words, Zyrusticae, you could make a fortune in the Valentine's Day card industry. Don't you all agree?
Reader Tony has a hilarious perspective shot that mind remind you of a certain cartoon dog. No, not Heathcliff. Not Snoopy. The other dog. No, not Garfield; that's not even a dog. You know what? Stop guessing. Yeah.
"Heya, my in-game name is Poika Pureda and I took this little shot without really knowing it. It seems my Guild Wars 2 Ranger's bloodhound was shocked to his very core about something. Either that or he wants some Scooby Snacks."

Speaking of good-looking games, TERA's one of those titles that keeps getting a lot of attention in this column due to its jazzy visuals. Hey, when you look this good, you might as well flaunt it, right?
"Since this MMO's transition to F2P, I haven't been able to put it down," reader Justin writes, "and I just had to capture this moment as we were waiting for a boss to spawn in a mid-game dungeon. It's a beautiful game with great atmosphere and because of that even the most simplistic of architecture can evoke a sense of awe in me. Or maybe it's because said architecture is floating thousands of miles above ground."
With the Ultimate One Shot in her 54-slot backpack, Desiree dashed out of the canyon as if hell were hot on her heels. Well, hellhound, but it still was terrifying, on fire, and quite slobbery. Hearing the growls from behind her, she tried to push the fear away.
"Fear is the mind-killer," she muttered. "Fear is the... ooh! Rare ore node!" She skidded to a halt and took out her pickaxe. "It's worth a corpse run."
