Lovefilm updates LG Smart TV app with better search and Watchlist support
Sure, it's great to have thousands of movies and TV shows at your fingertips, but finding the right one can be a total pain. That's one of the reasons why Amazon's Lovefilm has pushed live a new update for LG Smart TVs which introduces new search and recommendation features for customers in the UK and Germany. The company says it has optimized the UI to make it easier to browse, select and play titles or queue them up in your Watchlist for later viewing. The features have also been tuned to work in tandem with LG's snazzy Magic Remote Control, allowing you to navigate the app with gestures or by using your voice. The updated app is available today on the LG TV App Store for all 2012 and 2013 Smart TVs -- if you own an older model then you're right out of luck.

AMAZON'S LOVEFiLM LAUNCHES ENHANCED STREAMING APPLICATION ON LG SMART TVS
LOVEFiLM, an Amazon company, today announced the arrival of its new and improved LOVEFiLM Instant streaming application on LG Smart TVs in the UK and Germany.
The enriched app allows LG Smart TV owners to find great content easier than ever before with an improved search function and recommendation engine, navigate more efficiently with an optimised user interface, and plan the film and TV series they want to watch with the addition of the popular Watchlist feature. These new features are all complemented by LG's unique Magic Remote Control, which uses point, motion, wheel and voice gesture to control the Smart TV interface for a seamless and intuitive user experience.
Revisiting content is also made simple with a display that keeps track of what is currently being viewed and the last location reached in that video - making it easier to resume viewing from the same spot on any LOVEFiLM Instant-enabled device.
LG Smart TVs are the latest addition to the list of devices benefitting from the additional functionality of the new-look app - which will soon be made available on all remaining LOVEFiLM-enabled platforms - and includes LG's full range of 2012 and 2013 Smart TVs, including the recently launched 55" Curved OLED and 84" Ultra HD TV.
The LOVEFiLM Instant streaming application for LG Smart TVs is available to download from the LG TV App Store from today.
