The Witcher rides a Dark Horse into the comic book world
The Witcher series developer CD Projekt RED have teamed with comic publisher Dark Horse to bewitch the American comic store with a comic series set in the Witcher universe. The series will be penned by Eisner Award winner Paul Tobin, with art by Joe Querio, and available starting March 19, 2014.
A press release described the story as one with mystery and horror: "Travelling near the edge of the Black Forest, in the land of the Angren, monster hunter Geralt meets a widowed man whose dead and murderous wife resides in an eerie mansion known as the House of Glass." It was unclear at what point in The Witcher series' timeline the comic will take place.
In an interview with Newsarama, Tobin teased "monsters and pretty women." On a DeviantArt page attributed to Querio, a journal post reads "Monsters and women... What better combination can there possibly be!?"
It sounds like the comic might, just maybe, feature monsters and women.

With its endless rooms and horror around every corner, Geralt will have to use all his witcher prowess to solve the manor's mystery and survive.

With two games already available, fans can get to know Geralt even before the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt in 2014 on PC, PlayStation®4 and Xbox One®, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft. The Witcher games were collectively granted over 270 awards and sold more than 5 million copies worldwide.
