Looking for Guild: WoW and FFXIV

Things have been going well for the connections made through this column behind the scenes. It seems that we're connecting someone just about every week, although mostly in Final Fantasy XIV! But this week we have someone looking for friendlies in World of Warcraft (OK, and also FFXIV).

For next week, I want to do something a little different and switch things around to be all about guilds looking for members. You can certainly still send in your requests for guilds as normal, but in two weeks, it will be all about guild advertising, then we'll go back to normal.

So read on past the cut to see how you can get your guild on the next installment of this column, and check out those looking for a guild of their own in this week's list.

Here's how it works for the next column: If you're a guild leader or officer looking to grow your ranks, simply send an email to shawn@massively.com with the subject line "LFM" and tell me the following:

• The name of your game(s) of choice (include server name if applicable)

• The name of your guild

• Normal active times (day and time of day)

• What's your guild all about?

• What are you looking for in a guild member?

• How to apply

Game: World of Warcraft (Horde faction, Moon Guard RP-PVE server)
Usual play times: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. EST weekdays, most Saturdays before 3 p.m.
Main character class: Lvl 90 Retribution Paladin
Any alt classes: Lvl 20 Brewmaster Monk
Preferred playstyle: Casual hardcore? Hardcore casual? Nowadays I'm big into roleplaying, chatting, and collecting stuff for transmog sets. Love to raid, but don't have quite as much time for it these days. I do regularly read EJ class forums and check out raid strategies beforehand so I can contribute to the absolute best of my ability.
What I bring: Years of WoW/general MMO experience, respectful easy-going companionship, creativity and enthusiasm for regular RP story arcs. I also adapt and learn new things pretty quickly; you can depend on me to drop into some group content and catch up right away. I'm generally quiet and stick to myself, so a fun, friendly group to help me get out of my shell would be great.

Game: Final Fantasy XIV - Ridill server
Usual play times: Weekdays 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. EST, weekends 9 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. EST
Main character class: 50 Monk
Any alt classes: All jobs 50 except 40 PLD/classes. Several crafting jobs mid-range level.
Preferred playstyle: I like doing dungeons, low- or high-level! Looking for a group of people to do endgame with, but I'm always up for running lowbies through dungeons or helping with quests.
What I bring: Like to joke around, happy all around person. I learn/study content before running it, and I am a quick study. I'm pretty serious when it comes to getting stuff done in-game.

Game:Final Fantasy XIV, Ultros server, PS3.
Usual play times: Weeknights 10:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. EST, weekends off and on 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. EST
Main character class: White Mage (Currently 34)
Any alt classes: Arcanist and Thaumaturge (gunning for Scholar and Black Mage) plus all crafting and gathering classes (OK, no fishing yet!)
Preferred playstyle: Slow-burn hardcore? Not rushing but want to do it all eventually.
What I bring: Mature, easygoing helper and team player. Quick study. Enjoy helping with content I've already cleared. I always research/wiki new content before attempting with groups. Would like to be of use to a community as a crafter eventually; so far, I prefer my own HQ crafted gear to dungeon drops.
